Sophia at Xoxo, Sophia nominated me for the Liebster award.

I did one back in April when I was nominated by Katie at Better Off Benedict and I did the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers award after Shelly at The Queen In Between nominated me.

But thheeennnnn, Sophia nominated me I knew I couldn’t say no. I just can’t; so here I am answering more questions 😉

1. What’s one item you would buy over and over again, that isn’t a necessity?

Coffee. It’s always coffee. I think know I have an addiction.

2. What/Where is your dream vacation?

My dream vacation would be somewhere with my family. We don’t take many vacations as a family and I think that just about anywhere would do. London, Paris, Bora Bora, The Bahamas, I really don’t care I would just like to get out and travel 🙂

3. What is your favorite beauty product?

Oh man, I don’t think I have just one favorite. I think I have multiple favorites. Some are in my favorite hair products, some are make-up products, and I love me some good nail polish too.

4. What’s your favorite holiday and why?

If you would’ve asked me this questions months ago I would have said the 4th of July. However, my past 4th of July’s have been a bust so I haven’t really been looking forward to it as much. I guess if I had to choose a different one it would probably be Thanksgiving. I love food, getting together with family, the weather, the anticipation of Christmas coming afterwards, and everything in between. It’s a Fall holiday 🙂

5. What were the very first blogs you started reading?

Shay, Andrea, and Erika were the very first.

6. What motivates you to work hard?

Knowing what the end result is and knowing what I can expect at the end of it. Maybe it’s an assignment at school and knowing I will get a good grade. Maybe it’s a project at work and knowing that I will be done with it and not have to think about it again haha. Just knowing I will appreciate the end result will really make me work hard to complete it.

7. What’s the last movie you went to see? Was it any good?

My family went to see Hawaii for Father’s Day this year (I really don’t go to the movies) and none of us liked it. During the movie my dad leaned down to my mom and said “is this over yet?” hahaha! So no I wouldn’t recommend it.

8. What’s your number one tip for blogging?

Be genuine. I can tell when people skim through my blog just to leave a comment and while I always appreciate comments, it’s just not genuine and not the point of blogging. Being genuine in posting, nobody wants to read a fake blogger either. Blogging is about being real and talking about you. And interact with other bloggers…you can meet some cool people!

9. If you won $1,000, what would you do with it?

SAVE IT! Some people have an addiction to shopping, but I have an addiction to saving. Sometimes it’s a bad thing, but sometimes it’s a good thing. I always, always save my money!

10. What is a talent that you would like to learn?

To sing. We were doing Karaoke at my grandpa’s birthday party and I heard videos the next day and was 1. so embarrassed but 2. felt bad for everyone that had to listen!! Haha

Today I won’t be nominating anyone either because just about all of you have already done one at some point or another. But let me just say, you all just make blogging so much more than a hobby for me. I really look forward to writing my posts, getting your comments, and having conversations with you. It wouldn’t be nearly as much fun if I didn’t have such amazing blog friends like all of you reading this.

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers

Hi there! A couple of weeks ago Shelly who blogs at The Queen In Between nominated me for this Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. I did a little something like this back in April, but I love that people think to nominate me and I also love answering people’s questions, then reading through the answers of the bloggers I select. So, why not! 🙂

Today is the 10th day of August, so here are my 10 questions i’ve answered, my 10 blog friends i’m nominating, and the 10 questions i’m asking them! Have a great Monday!

1.  How did you decide on your blog name?

Colors of Life came about one day when I was trying to figure out what in the heck a good name for a blog would be. I knew I was going to be talking about life and I have no idea how colors came into play for the name but I felt like that sounded as though it would represent all the different aspects of life, because essentially that’s what I knew I was going to be talking about.

2.  What tip would you offer new bloggers?

Unless you’re famous it’s going to take a while to grow your readership. It’s just a fact. Be patient!

3.  What was your dream job growing up?

Definitely owning a retirement home. I actually posted about that here.

4.  What would you love to get paid to do now?

My hobbies. I’d love to get paid to blogging, working out, and scrapbook. And spend time with my family, and read, and travel, and all that too.

5.  What is your favorite season?

FALL!!!!!!!!!!!! There’s just something about cold weather, layers, scarves, football season, iced pumpkin spice lattes, orange and brown, candles, and more to make this girl happy.

6.  What is your favorite summer outfit?

Athletic shorts and a tank or t-shirt. That’s pretty much what you’ll find me in during all 4 seasons though, haha!

7.  What is your favorite summer cocktail or mocktail?

To be honest I don’t really drink much alcohol (GASP! 21 year old here!). But if I had to pick some sort of summery drink it’d be frozen. Probably a margarita.

8.  Favorite summer memory?

Probably traveling with the family. Nothing too earth shattering happened this summer so it was just a laid back one. And getting to see my friends too!

9.  Who would play you in a movie about your life?

I’m really not sure. Can I say me? I like to think i’m one of a kind and nobody can replicate me 🙂

10. What is your favorite tip for balancing all the “in betweens” in your life?

I feel like this question could be interpreted different ways, so I interpret it to be balancing everything in your life. And to that I would say Use. Your. Planner. I always wonder how people do anything without a planner.

Liebster Award, say what?

Monday when I was at work I got an e-mail saying I had a comment from someone saying “I nominated you for” and that’s all I could read. First of all I get SO EXCITED any time someone comments, so I hopped on and saw they nominated me for an award! Whhaatttt? Me? I’m just your average nerdy college student! I was so flattered though. Honestly you can keep the award, I was just so happy that someone who i’d never seen over on my blog before listed me to receive this award for new bloggers on her page. So Katie, dear friend, thank you for making my Monday!

I had never heard of this so I had to do a little research and found that the gist of this is that we are suppose to answer the 10 questions from the blogger we were tagged by and then come up with 10 others for bloggers that we nominate. Sure i’m in! What a fun way to connect with other bloggers. It also reminds me of when we “boo” people at Halloween. Oh fall, only 5 months away. But i’m definitely not rushing summer!

10 questions to answer:
1. Which bloggers inspire you the most?

So for sure, Shay Shull from Mix and Match Mama. And Andrea McAnally from Momfessionals. They’re amazing and so so fun to follow. And they live like 15 minutes away from me (ish) and I totally wish it was normal and not creepy to stalk them because I just want to be their friend!

2. Why did you start your blog?

So many people say it, but Shay captured the inner blogger in me. I had no idea there was even a such thing, but I thought about how fun it looked and said why not?! Besides that, I wanted there to be a way for me to share my “colors” of life with other people who could learn from me. It all just went hand in hand with one another.

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Anywhere that I can keep my family close. They know that even if they don’t want to live near me, they are 😉 Preferably somewhere that is 70 degrees all the time.

4. What is your favorite store?

Easy peasy! Target. Or Old Navy.

5. What are three things you never leave home without?

My phone, my wallet, and a water bottle.

6. What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends?

Spend time with my people and enjoy not having to worry about school work or work work. Oh and I like to work-out! (Lots of work!!!!)

7. Who is your hero?

This question is funny because my mom asked me this when I was younger and I told her “I don’t have one”. And then she was all “well, that’s sad”. But now understanding the full meaning I can say (besides Jesus of course) my G, fo sho. My grandpa is the coolest, snazziest, easy going human anyone could meet. And i’d bet my life on that one! And he loves frog legs hahah

8. What was your dream job when you were a child?

My dream job as a child and my dream job as a young adult are still the same 😉 I want to own a retirement home one day. I have a huge passion for the elderly. I know that I obviously can’t come out of college owning a retirement home, so that’ll be some time in the future.

9. What is your biggest pet peeve?

OH MY GOSH! People who scrape their teeth on their metal silverware when they eat. I’m cringing now thinking about it. Thanks for that, Katie! Hence why I only eat with plastic silverware.

10. What is your favorite food?

Mexican food. Enchiladas, tacos, refried beans, chips n salsa, guac, mexican rice. I WANT ALL THE MEXICAN FOOD IN THE WORLD! Really though, if I could eat Mexican food every day I would. For every meal.
