Friday Favorites: New Years Edition

The second Friday of 2016 is among us. And I hope that Andrea, Erika, and Narci are still doing Friday Favorites this year.

Friday Favorites2016

This is probably the only time i’m sad for a Friday to be here. And it’s because I know that come Tuesday, i’ll be sitting in classes for the majority of the day. Joy.

jan1

And i’ll probably be wearing something like this outfit. My aunt gave me this workout shirt and new running shoes for Christmas. She couldn’t have done better…I asked for new running shoes since mine were about 2 years old and very worn. These ASICS are a perfect fit. And the shirt is something I also wanted but didn’t have on my Christmas list. This is my daily uniform and it’s my FAVORITE. 🙂

IMG_0219

I’ve said it plenty of times before, and i’ll say it again. ASICS are the BEST running shoes out there. That’s my personal opinion. And Nike Frees are the worst. That’s also my personal opinion and the Nike salesman that I talked to about them. If you’re trying to run/do any kind of workout in Nike Free shoes and you’re having problems, seriously get new shoes!

jan2

The day before NYE I went into work and she told me there wasn’t much going on, so I could leave. Well, I left and headed straight for Reeana. She got a new apartment over in the Fort Worth area, so I grabbed a Starbucks to sip on, turned my music up way too loud, and made the hour drive to see her new place and hang out for a bit!

IMG_0222

I told her to pick a place to eat that was on her list to visit/try but she hadn’t been before because it was on me! The place she wanted to go to was closed (RUDE) so we went a couple blocks down to a bar/grill type place. She got a beer and we shared their fish tacos (YUM) and sat and talked about life for a couple hours.

IMG_0223

I tried to get out of there to make it back to the gym before traffic hit the city, but I ended up getting stuck it in part of the way.

IMG_0224

We had a mini-Christmas exchange with each other and along with some face masks, she gave me this blanket. It is my FAVORITE and I haven’t let go of it since I got it. This was the picture I sent her after I got a picture from her that she hung the two pieces of decoration I bought for her apartment.

IMG_0229

NYE was me hitting the gym for an 8:30 dance class. HAHA to that. And then I went straight to work for the lunch shift. When I got home it was time for the OU game in which they lost to Clemson (WHATEVER LAUREN). My blog friend Lauren went to Clemson so I was texting her about it. And she made sure to let me know she was super excited about it 😉 The rest of the night consisted of me spending time at home cuddled up by the fire with my FAVORITE Molly milk and cookies. AKA Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough QuestBar and lactose free milk.

IMG_0232

And then I went to bed after the ball dropped, because is that not what every 21 year old did on NYE?! #noshame #ilovesleep #anddoingnothing

janff4

It’s been rather warm for Texas around the Holidays. But on New Years Day when my dad wanted to go for a walk, it was NOT warm. Walking with my dad is one of my FAVORITE things to do, so I couldn’t say no when he asked…but a mile in and I was done because my nose was running and I had to work that night.

IMG_0237

New Years Day night I went into my other job (which yes is waiting tables) and we were serving black eyed peas! Apparently it’s a southern thing, but you are suppose to eat black eyed peas on NYD for good luck. I love beans and traditions so this was one of my FAVORITES. Although…I didn’t have any. What, Molly?!

IMG_0238

The rest of last weekend I spent working out and going to work. How typical for me. Man, I am so not ready to go back for another semester of classes. I’ve enjoyed this past week too much.

Here’s to hoping this weekend goes by EXTRA slow for us all! 😉

What’s on…your feet?

Today I’m linking up I thought I was linking up with Andrea for her “what’s on…?” series. However, this morning on her blog was about her cute friend Manda and her battle with cancer. My heart aches for Manda and her family. So, I am praying for her.

I still thought today I would post this month what’s on…your feet. How funny, because I posted about what was on my feet all last week!

what's on

WHAT?! Do I need to say that again??? SIX DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS!!! These slippers look so perfect for slipping on early morning in the fall and winter. Honestly, i’d probably wear these in the spring and summer too. But i’m just weird like that 😉

knit slippers

Then, my wednesday pin-spired was: booties and bluejeans! So falltch! (get it, instead of so fetch, mean girls reference, anyone?? yeah that was pretty stupid. okay i’ll stop)

Now, when i’m working out, these bad boys (ASICS Women’s GEL-Noosa Tri 9 Running Shoe) are on my feet. And I love them, at first they felt weird and I was unsure about them, but we have grown to get along very well and I realized I wasn’t used to all that padding and support in tennis shoes because I always had nike frees and let’s be honest those are just meant for looks.

IMG_2102 IMG_2147

When i’m hanging out with my girls at the fair/rodeo these Western Bootsare on my feet.

IMG_1770

And if you read my PINTERESTed in post back on the 24th you saw about my love for these leopard flats. I’m sorry for the caps below and everywhere, but i’m just SO excited! The flats are

FOR ONLY $12 RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

IMG_2280IMG_2222

And the fact that I talked mom into getting herself a pair 🙂
Her specific pair is not online, but the link above is a close match…also on sale!

IMG_1932

I took some pics for ya yesterday for what my feet were sportin’ and…that’d be some sandals. It was kind of warm to me yesterday and when I went to yoga in the morning I wanted something that could be easily taken off.

IMG_2443

Like so…

IMG_2447

And then at Church I had on some leopard flip flops to match my leopard scarf. Hehe, of course!

IMG_2451

I got my leopard flip flops (I know it is hard to tell) a long time ago, and i’m actually trying to replace them because I use them so dang much, i’m considering this cute pair though!

As I was looking last night, I saw that there is a HUGE SALE going on right now for heels and flats at Target!! And what better timing than fall/before Christmas???

If you don’t need anything for yourself don’t worry about it, do some Christmas shopping friends. Bargains, bargains, bargains!! I could go on, but i’m going to stop because…this is overwhelming. Comment and tell me what you get and what you love!

Happy Monday!

Friday Favorites

If you’ve ever watched Pollyanna you remember her playing the “glad game”. This movie is particularly special to me because my dad and I watched it alllllll the time when I was little. It’s a good little message and brings good memories. And he calls me Pollyanna. So, my new thing is finding something to be glad about in every day, so my favorites are going to be a my favorite thing about each day every week! I’m totally excited about this idea.

Link up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci!!!

: Running in the rain.

IMG_2103

Last Friday night I decided to do my run for the week, because I had the night off work. My dad and I were going to watch our show together while the other kids were at the football game. I went on a run beforehand and I had to capture the fact that I was wearing a long sleeved shirt and some yoga capris with my favorite ASICS Women’s GEL-Noosa Tri 9 Running Shoe!!!! It was 60 degrees and raining, perfect running weather for me. Loved. It.

2: Date night with dad.

IMG_2109

One of our old neighbors had a set of twins when I was eh, maybe 8. I don’t really remember. They moved away and then came back. My dad has kept in touch with them because their dad and mine both went to the same Military college in South Carolina. Anyways, so his kids’ b’nai Mitzvah was on Saturday and because my mom was gone, I got to fill in as his date. And this was the best picture I got, and it’s dark because this was during the dancing part. Arg.

3: Church and lunch with dad & siblings.

IMG_2116 IMG_2119

Sunday we decided to get to Church, which I was so excited because this was one of my September goals! Don’t mind Rick, he hates pictures. But after Church we went to Applebee’s for some lunch, which consisted of wings and soup. Yep, total Middleton meal!

4: Ryan’s foot.

IMG_2126

Monday I took Ryan to the doctor in place of my mom where he got his cast taken off (he fractured some bone by a muscle near a tendon next to the ankle….I really don’t know medical terminology) and got this boot on for the next two weeks. Next week he can start applying pressure to this and i’m glad that nothing else was wrong and he is healing.

5: Mom comes home.

IMG_2134

“Molly, what is this mess you left me?” I’m kidding, she was mid-sentence to Ryan when I snapped this. I’m so thankful my mom is home now, because I get to be a normal college student again and not have to worry about dishes and laundry! Thank you, mom!

6: Nannying and peanut butter.

 IMG_2136

Wednesday is one of my nannying days. So, we hang out for a little bit while they get a snack before it’s time for homework. You know, nothing beats hanging out on the fireplace with a spoonful of peanut butter. #bestnannyever #i’dhireme #forgivemyiphone4camera

7: Accepted!

IMG_2162

I finally got my acceptance letter to the Unversity of Texas at Dallas. Eeeks, y’all! I could not be more excited because it stands for my life finally being back on track. I have a plan (i’m a total planner) and I know where I will be spending the majority of my time the next couple of years!

That’s it for this week, have a fun-filled, happy weekend!!!

#everydaymollay: August Edition

Let me just start today by saying: Red Sox beat the Yanks last night, woot woot!!!! I’m sure Mix and Match Mama is just as excited as I am!

Wow, another month has already gone by! It just so happened that my #everydaymollay fell on Labor Day this year. #everydaymollay is usually on the last day of the month, but I thought I would hold off until Labor Day to show you what I did. So here.we.go.

I’ve been staying at the house I was watching this weekend, so first things first. Gotta take out Daisy about 7/8am:

 IMG_1887

I don’t think she’s feelin’ me this morning. After we hang out for a little while, I had to leave so I could get home in time and head off to work.

IMG_1032

Once I get off around 2, I come home and guess what we are doing?

IMG_1881IMG_1882

Cleaning out the garage today. I get home from work to work around the house. Aye, Aye, Aye! But seriously, we’ve lived in this house for so many years and I have the biggest pack-rat parents…I don’t know if that’s even spelled right…but they do not get rid of anything. I’m just proud they started on the garage. It looks so much better!

About 4:00 it’s time to let Daisy out again. Are we becoming friends yet, homie??

 IMG_1888

Maybe a little bit. I decided to do my run at their house for a little change of scenery. Getting my goal #3 from my September list started!

IMG_1886

HA! Why didn’t anyone tell me how stupid I am? It’s 96 degrees outside and in the heat of the day I decide it’s a great time for a run. Look people, there are my running shoes again!!

I come back from my run and after I cool down and stretch Daisy and I have a little play time.

IMG_1890IMG_1894

She did not want ANYTHING to do with me the first time I went over on Thursday, but now she’s diggin’ me.

I got home, showered, and my family and I sit down for Labor Day dinner about 7:00.
What is it you ask? Duhhh, burgers and brats (forgive my cheese, it doesn’t melt) #lactosefreeprobs, fries, watermelon, and a Giada vegetable recipe. Yum!

IMG_1900

After the dishes are all done, I go back to work in my room. And about 9:00 it’s time to let out Daisy. Look at those li’l puppy dog eyes! She gets the hang of our routine by the time I get over there at night, just so we can do it again.

IMG_1889

So on Labor Day I labored all. day. But actually, it was fun. I told you I like to work. I’m an odd bird.

Link to my page and show me what a day in your life looks like!!

Saturday Savings

Well, because I didn’t post Thursday, I thought I would get you with a Saturday Savings.

Now, remember the other week when I was talking about my faaaaavorite ASICS running shoes? Yes, these ones:

IMG_1739 IMGS5856 IMG_1523

Well, I just found on Amazon that they are the 3rd best seller. You heard it! I wasn’t lying…these ASICS Women’s GEL-Noosa Tri 9 Running Shoe are some wonderful running/everyday shoes! They go for about $100 with free shipping! Woot woot!

These shoes got 4.5/5 stars. Like I said, i’m not very good about getting new shoes, but i’ve enjoyed not having to worry about my feet get blistered and sore when I wear these.

I have worn Asics for several years and the Tri 9 met and exceded my expectations. Great support and nice wide toe box. Love, love, love the color!

Love the Gel-Noosa, light weight, good support and stunning at that. Can’t ask for more. A five star running shoe.

I did size up a bit (a half size) as I do with all Asics but these shoes are a lot of fun, supportive, and they get a lot of attention. I’m enjoying them!
Most of these reviews are saying to go up a whole size when ordering.

2.) AND, Amazon’s deal of the day is 45% off select ASICS Women’s GEL-Storm 2 Running Shoe. WOW?! Running shoes for Under $50?! Say it ain’t so. Go now and check out the sizes and colors! I’m telling you, you might have to get yourself a pair of ASICS, this offer is only valid for TODAY ONLY!

These shoes have 4/5 stars. Most reviews said they run a little small, so get a half size larger or more.

I have very narrow feet and very flat arches. What I need in a shoe is arch support and for it to be tight enough.

These are one of the only pairs of running shoes that I’ve found that are narrow enough for my feet. I usually have an issue where the front of my foot flops around back and forth because of the width. There is extra room to breathe on the sides, but my feet stay in place fine. Also, they can lace VERY tight if you want them to be tight or if your foot is flatter on top than mine is. I don’t have to lace them very tight to be snug in place. Also there is a good solid arch support inside, not super high but definitely there and enough to keep my foot properly balanced and ankle upright.

I am an 8 1/2 generally in most shoes, although tennis shoes sometimes I am a little smaller (on the end of size 8). These fit exactly right in an 8 1/2 which probably means they’re a tad fit smaller than some expect.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend these for wide feet.

These are super comfortable! Because of my flat feet, being on my feet all day leads to pain in my ankles and knees. I wore these for about an hour the day I got them and my feet were totally happy… the next day I was setting up for an event and walking and standing constantly most of the day and my feet felt great the whole time! It is completely unheard of for me being on my feet that long for my feet to still be happy by the end of the day. Also didn’t feel like I had to break them in really as I didn’t get any blisters or sores or stiffness. Flexible comfortable shoe.

I think I’m in love!

3.) ONE LAST THING! Starting at 10:00am this morning these Tony Lama Ponteggio Smooth Cowhide Western Boot
are 38% off! Cowboy boots for $200, oh my gosh. These are my pair:

IMG_1771IMG_2140IMG_1226IMG_1650

These boots are so much fun for game-day, the rodeo, country concerts. Whatever. You. Want. They have a 5/5 star review. And really, you can’t go wrong.

Okay, now click these links and get to purchasing your new shoes!!

Friday Favorites

Kicking my Friday afternoon off with Andrea, Narci, and Erika!

1. My Asics

IMG_1523

These are the best shoes i’ve ever ever had. I always choose asics because they fit my foot the best. These in particular have cushion in the back but not in the front so they don’t feel huge on your feet. I can run, walk, go to the gym, do jumping jacks, whatever I feel like and I don’t get pain in my heels. I went to Nike for a couple years and my feet would always hurt every time I took them off and I would have blisters everywhere. If you are looking for this same comfort, check out these ASICS and I can tell you that you won’t regret it. And they are fun and colorful. One of the teachers in my exercise class uses them also, so they’ve got to be fantastic!

2. FULL. HOUSE.

Full_House_(cast)

Oh my gosh, people!!!! I was looking on Amazon today, and I FOUND A BARGAIN
! The entire Full House series for $54. This is originally a $170 value. IT IS SIXTY-EIGHT % OFF! I will most likely order this to give as a gift. We grew up on Full House and I still watch it all the time. This show is so family-friendly and funny. My mom would watch it with us sometimes, so people of all ages can enjoy! Buy one for you, your mom, your sister, your nephew, everyone! You can’t get enough FH. How could you not want to be part of this crazy crew?

3. Iowa State Tumbler

IMG_1653

I got my beloved tumbler earlier this week, and it has become my most favorite thing within a couple days. I drink my morning coffee in this cup and then I carry my water in it throughout the day. It doesn’t sweat and get the table all wet and it’s the perfect size, plus look how pretty it is!! I will always be an Iowa State-er at heart. For my fellow cyclones…a Tumbler that is the closest I could come.

#4. Pictures like this

 IMG_1603

Dad always jokes with mom about her big nose. We see where she gets it from. Lord, help my sister and I if we have noses like mom and grandpa. We know we probably don’t have much control over it, but we still had to get the picture. If I must say so, I think Morgan will be more like them 🙂 It’s only natural I put some of my favorite people in my “Friday Favorites” post.

See you Monday!
