This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Book(TV)worm Wednesday: March

It’s Bookworm Wednesday, which means that the first Wednesday of every month we all blog about our reads, include this graphic below, and link back to Katie and I!

bookwormwednesday1

Then you can go through the links to ideas from others on what to read next 🙂

2016 Bookworm Wednesday dates:

April 6th
May 4th
June 1st
July 6th
August 3rd
September 7th
October 5th
November 2nd
December 7th

Confession: I’m a bad Bookworm Wednesday host this month. I host this linkup because my favorite “downtime” activity is either reading or watching Netflix/TV. And this month, with the amount that I have going on, I’ve been binge watching like a mad woman. This is mainly because I can have the lights off already and just fall asleep. When i’m reading, the lights have to be on and I have to hold the book, you know? And i’m lazy. Especially when i’m tired all the time.

So this month’s Bookworm Wednesday has been re-named to TVworm Wednesday. Because #bingewatching. And #goodTV.

Binge-watching this…

whencallstheheart

Ahhh,When Calls The Heart is my new show. The old western feel. The love story. Lori Loughlin. The way they talk. The way they dress. No cell phones. Writing letters. Living in simpler times. It’s all me. If you’re a fan of this show, I would highly recommend the Love Comes Softly series. That’s all 10 DVD’s for $15.00. Binge watch it now, thank me later! But only if this is your kind of thing 😉

And this….

fullerhouse

We all know and love the Tanners. And we were all excited for Fuller House to premiere this past Friday. So let’s talk about it!!!! Because you know I binge watched the entire season and am already finished with it. What are your thoughts? For me…

1. Danny’s voice is weird.
2. Nicky and Alex were pointless and I did not like them.
3. The first couple episodes were so cheesy.
4. Candace Cameron Bure is A HOT MAMA and I am totally obsessed with her. I’ve read 2 of her books and I have been searching for the third one everywhere but can’t get my hands on it. It’s the one i’m most excited to read too.
5. Not a fan of them dressing Stephanie in a hoochie mama outfit. Someone put some clothes on that girl!
6. Bring Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky into more episodes!!! They. Are. My. Favs. And how are they both so HAWT after 30 years?! Ps…I totally guessed the whole rose episode at the beginning. PPS. I may or may not have cried in elementary school when I found out these shows were not real and they weren’t actually a couple. Maybe.
7. Max is the bomb. I want him to be my son.
8. I feel like as a loyal Full House watcher I should be #teamsteve but I have to say i’m #teammatt. Poll: Which are you??
9. Andrea Barber is doing an amazing job. Kimmy is the exact same. But that “soon to be ex husband” drives me bananas.
10. When the heck are they releasing the next episodes already?!?! And why the heck was it only a 13 episode season?!?!

So do you agree or disagree with me? Spill.

Of course there’s this…

bachelorben

Let me just start by saying that I love Ben. The Bachelor picked a good one. Like, an actual good guy. Him, Sean, and Chris seem to be of the few that seem to be genuinely good guys. Poll: #TeamLauren or #TeamJoJo?? Monday nights episode was so juicy and i’m PUMPED for March 14 and the Finale. I think I have a hunch on who he will pick, but then again, you can never be sure with this show!

I’m back onto this…

The OC - Ten Years Later

I’ve mentioned before that my dad and I’s thing is watching episodes of The OC together. We did this when I was either in late middle school or early high school and we started again. So after the end of a long day when we are both done with our obligations, we cuddle up on the couch (most of the time with food) and we watch an episode. But only 1. We’ve tried 2 and it was too long for us. And not on Monday or Tuesday nights ’cause dad knows…

I’m watching this…

thevoicespring16

And since I have a show with dad, I have to have a show with mom. On Monday and Tuesday nights mom and I huddle together to watch The Voice since it just started again Monday night! Whoop! I’m really not a Christina fan but i’m looking forward to this season. Because I am SO GLAD that Jordan won last season. He was awesome!

I also re-started this…

hartofdixietv

I feel like Hart of Dixie is controversial. Everyone that I have talked to about it either hates it or loves it. There’s no in between. I am on the end of the spectrum that LOVES this show. But apparently I was out voted so that it’s not coming on anymore. So now I have to re-watch on Netflix. This is why I can’t get emotionally invested into TV shows because I get so sad when they are over. Just like Parenthood!

And then there’s this…

plltvshow5yearsforward

I’ve been going 5 years forward with Pretty Little Liars. This show reminds me so much of high school. Not only because they were high school girls, but because it came out when we were in high school. I mean, I would throw premiere parties every season it started again! Emily and I watched together each week too. Her and I were originals watching the first season while everyone else jumped on the bandwagon after the second season. Trend setters, baby!

And one more…

ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" - Season Ten

There’s a new season of Grey’s Anatomy out on Thursday nights. Morgan is the one that got me to start watching this show in the first place so when she’s home from college we will watch together. But when she’s gone, we just text about it. We’re both over this show now. Without Derek, life is just not the same in Grey’s world. And now they’re just having to make up a plot line to keep it interesting.

bingewatchingquote

Do you see my problem??? There’s just too much good tv to spend time reading right now. And when I get home from work and i’m eating my lunch, I go straight to my recordings. When I get home from class and should actually go to sleep, I click to my recordings. And my favorite thing to do is watch my favorite shows with some of my favorite people. It’s just life right now. So WHAT am I missing out on??

Online Bible study girls: Week 8, 9, and 10 are coming! Don’t forget about them. These past couple weeks have been perfect for catching up since I know many fell behind. 🙂

Next month, the plan is back to books because vacation is coming and a girl’s gotta have books for the flight. But if you’re looking for book posts now…

Books in July

Well well, it’s the 1st Wednesday of the month and therefore I have something cool planned for the rest of our 1st Wednesdays at the bottom of this post. But don’t you dare skip my review on these books, I know how you people operate!!!!

I have been a reading machine this month. My grandma would be so proud of me. When she would come down to visit us she always brought AT LEAST 3 books and had them done within the week and a half she was here. And her and I would read together before bed. She loved reading, and it’s starting to wear off on me in my older age 😉

So, here are the 4 books I read this July starting with my most recent:

The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty

IMG_8318

I just finished this book on Saturday night. Yes, I spend my Saturday nights reading books. And no, I have no problem with it whatsoever. My mom actually started this book before me and didn’t like it, so I decided I would take it off of her hands and see what I thought. And I feel like i’m going against the odds here to say I didn’t like it at first. I couldn’t get into it, I couldn’t understand it, and I was confused why everyone raved about this book. I think it was around chapter 12 that I FINALLY got the hang of things (there’s 3 different people’s stories to follow) and really enjoyed it. This was a big ol’ book being 400 pages long. Was it my favorite read? Not really. Did I hate it? No. Maybe one of Liane Moriarty’s other books is good…so i’ll probably try another one. Any recommendations as to which one next?

The Vow by Kim and Krickitt Carpenter

IMG_8195

The Vow was a super simple, super quick read. I picked it up at the store because I had seen the movie and didn’t know that it was based on true events. For those of you who are unfamiliar, the couple gets into a car accident where the wife loses all short term memory including the fact that she’s married and the husband tries to make her fall in love with him again. It’s sad but uplifting at the same time. They are a Christian couple and it talks a lot about their walk with God in the process. If you need a light, lovable read…The Vow. And watch the movie if you haven’t!

One Light Still Shines by Marie Monville

onelightstillshines

This book is written by the wife on the man who committed the Amish schoolhouse shooting. I really didn’t remember anything about that particular incident. It happened in 2006, I was in 6th grade and of course didn’t watch any kind of news. The only reason I ended up getting the book was because I felt like everywhere I looked I saw it. I’m so glad I read it. This is also a Christian book and talks about how she relied on God during this tragedy. If you’re an easy crier, you’ll probably cry ’cause I felt myself getting teary eyed at one part and i’m definitely not a crier. It’s worth a shot reading!

Let’s All Be Brave by Annie F. Downs

letsallbebrave

It feels like I read Annie’s book forever ago. I loved this one! She’s real and shares about different parts of her life that I know I can really relate to. There were many times I would read something and think “uh-huh” or “me too!”. Annie throws in Bible verses or Bible passages that relate to whichever topic that she is talking about in that chapter making it all the more meaningful. The main thing I think of in regards to this book is the word relatable. Especially when she mentions loving being at home and not wanting to leave her little bubble. Ugh, brave stuff is hard.

FUN NEWS!

I’m starting a new link-up for all of us book lovers/book readers to join in on! I’ve been wanting to host a link-up for about, eh forever now and Katie gave me the idea when she mentioned wanting to participate in a book review link-up…so it was the extra push for me.

(Just like today) Every 1st Wednesday of the month for the rest of this year i’ll be hosting “Book Worm Wednesday” on the blog. We’ll all talk about our favorite reads for that particular month and get ideas from each other on what to read next. So, mark your calendars for….

Books (and some Netflix) in June

Like I said in my June goals on Monday, I have not been very good about reading lately…I really wish I had time during the day to read, but working kind of limits that. I mean, they won’t pay me to read…seriously?! By the time my head hits my pillow I pretty much pass out. I’m currently in the process of reading this book:

goodbyeedhellome

and it’s taken me a while. I was better about reading last summer. It’s crazy how different life is with “a big kid job”. I’ve noticed so many changes and differences than what my life used to be like. And I feel like it’s only going to change from here. Ready or not. Other than reading Goodbye Ed, Hello Me I’ve decided to dive into about a chapter every day of Unglued while i’m doing my Quiet Time.

IMG_6690

I started Unglued about a month ago, but never finished it. I decided that I wanted to finish it, so what better way than incorporating it into my quiet time after reading through my Bible every morning?

Although I haven’t been reading…i’ve been watching Netflix while I work on some other things. Several movies that I want to show you…

IMG_7390

One (mid)night in the car I was driving with Rick and he asked me if I had seen God’s Not Dead. I had heard of the movie and saw the sign sitting outside of the theaters, but didn’t actually know what it was about. I asked him if he watched it and he said he did and that he liked it. Well, I started it as soon as we got home and probably would have finished it had I not fallen asleep. So I finished it the next day. And was a huge fan of this movie!!! I’d highly recommend it. It challenged me in my personal relationship with Christ and i’ve found myself thinking about it since then.

heartofthecountry

Then, I saw this on my recommended movies or something like that on Netflix. My mom and I actually bought this movie a year or so ago, but just haven’t gotten around to watching it yet. I LOVED this movie. I’m already a fan of Jana Kramer so I knew I wasn’t going to hate it. I love the story, the characters, just everything about it. You need to check it out if you have a heart 😉

thebestofme

And currently i’m in this movie because I saw it was a new release on Netflix. I’ll have to tell you how it is once I finish it!

So do you watch Netflix movies? Or Netflix tv shows? What recommendations do you have for me??? I can’t wait to read up on everyone else’s reading this past month.

Books in May

I’m a huge fan of reading. There are few things in life that are better than laying on the couch with a good book, a beverage of choice, and nothing to do.

I always take a book with me when i’m traveling, whether it’s to Boston, my grandpa’s farm, or a family road trip.

IMG_6690IMG_1964

And definitely to school. Even to read in my classes.

IMG_4991IMG_4819

This month with finals taking a week, being with my friends for an entire week, and going to Boston for a weekend I really didn’t spend too much time reading. I’m hoping that when the sun starts shining soon (fingers crossed considering we were having tornados yesterday) that i’ll be able to take a book out to my backyard with me to lay out in the sun. Have I mentioned how much I love summer???!

mayff1

I started The Best Yes because of all the recommendations for the book. Now that i’ve finally finished it i’m not really sure I actually liked it. It was okay, but it just seemed to take me a while to get through. I think I had such high expectations for it because of how many times I saw others talking about how it was such a good book. She does a lot to relate to the mom readers and while that’s good, i’m just not in that stage of life right now so maybe at that time I can pull this one out and re-read it. There’s a lot of correlation with scripture from the Bible which I really liked.

bestyesIMG_5918

mayff2

Unglued was a book that I heard of with The Best Yes. I’m actually still reading it with just a couple pages left to finish. I can probably finish it up tonight, but I liked this one better than The Best Yes. This book was more about handling yourself in conversations and situations when you kind of just want to punch the other person square in the face. I really related to this one because I know I have a very short temper. It just teaches us different ways to handle situations we might be in that we just want to explode.

IMG_4344

mayff3

The book also pictured above, Let’s All Be Brave, is going to be my next read. Being brave in tough situations is something I really want to work on. This can look different to all of us, so I think that I can really use things from this book in different parts of my life.

mayff4

I was watching our sermon Monday night from this past weekend and our pastor recommended this book. So, the next time i’m needing to purchase a book…boundaries is it!

boudaries

I told ya it was not going to be a very long list today. I’ve been a book slacker. Have you read boundaries? Is it as good as my pastor was making it seem?

Books in March

I’m a little late this morning due to the fact that I was exhausted last night and didn’t finish my post before I crashed. The struggle is real, y’all!

My relationship with reading is unpredictable. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don’t. When I was a little girl I would always read with my grandma because if she wasn’t watching tv she was reading a book and she really wanted to pass that down to us. Whenever I would talk with her on the phone she would always ask what book I am reading. For the most part, I never really read as a kid unless it was with her. But now that I’m getting older things are changing. I loved reading People for a while there. My dad has a subscription so he tosses it up to my room as soon as he’s finished with it. Don’t ask me why he has a subscription, I don’t know. Now, I never find the time to sit down with a magazine and read.

IMG_5361

This summer I read Nicholas Spark’s The Longest Ride and loved it. It was about a cowboy, an introverted girl (oh, I can relate!), and them meeting and basically falling in love. It was my kind of story for sure. I would recommend this to anyone, especially because it’s coming out in theaters in April. My mom read this before me when we went on vacation this past summer and enjoyed it too. I’m definitely going to be taking her to this movie!

IMG_1578

Another book that I read was Barbara Delinsky’s Sweet Salt Air: A Novel. This book mom and I bought before our vacations as well. This was definitely a slower read for me and took me quite a while to finish. However, I liked how it ended. It would okay but I would recommend Nicholas Sparks first. And my mom would have picked this one over Nicholas Sparks’ one. Ha, that happens!

IMG_1906

I went to Target one morning during my hour and a half break in between classes. I had no intentions on buying anything but I was walking by the books to get to another department this one popped out in front of me. I decided what the heck, I’ll buy it. People, I finished it that day. This was such a good read and it might have to do with the fact that I follow his sisters blog 🙂 Sean goes into the details of his life and it’s so relatable. You also get some insight into the Bachelor. I really can’t tell you anything bad about For the Right Reasons. Sean killed it with this book.

IMG_4990

See….I read it through my entire Marketing lecture that day (an hour after I bought it). During the time in between classes, that night, until it was completely read through.

IMG_4991

I got this book,The Language of Flowers from my friend Emily‘s sweet mom. I read a couple chapters at the beginning of the semester (this pic was taken on the first day actually) and then started to get busy with work and school and never got to finish. This is back on my to-read list as soon as I finish up with my others.IMG_4819

I got the books below from my brother for Christmas. So far, I haven’t read any but I am in the middle of The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands, and i’ll let you know how it goes when I’m finished. So far I’m enjoying reading it before bed every night instead of Netflix. There are a lot of words of wisdom and she bolds a lot of quotes and inspirational sayings. I’m fixing to go back and write them all down 🙂IMG_4344

Susan Elizabeth Phillips is my mom’s absolute favorite author. I made her dig all of the books we have of hers out of the attic so that I can start reading. This is her latest one: Heroes Are My Weakness that mom bought, so I’m planning to read it when I finish with my others. I have a lot on my to-read list. I need to hop to it!

Susan Phillips

So what do you think? Have you read any of the books? What’d you think?

It’s the Little Things in Life.

Mornings are the worst. I’m sorry. I’m still working on becoming a morning person, but it’s not going as smoothly as I was hoping. Especially when everyone is on spring break except for me! Here’s to hoping that your Wednesday morning goes smooth. Yesterday when I talked about anxiety, I mentioned having little things in life that make you happy, and today i’m going to share with you mine!

Starbucks

IMG_4447 IMG_4331 IMG_4152

IMG_4125 IMG_3928 IMG_3847

I never thought I was going to be the one to jump on the Starbucks bandwagon. I never went to Starbucks when I was younger and didn’t even like any of their drinks. I would have chosen homemade hot chocolate over theirs. And lately my coffee of choice was from McCafe. However, now that I am working I have found myself wanting needing coffee every morning. Because McCafe doesn’t accommodate the lactose intolerant out there (I asked in the drive through one day if I could bring my own soy milk and they declined) I’ve been having to switch to Starbucks for the soy milk. Now it’s growing on me and i’ve had to take selfies to send to the fam every time i’ve gone. It happens.

marff2

Holidays/Family Time

IMG_4498IMG_5214IMG_4380

My favorite time is family time and I could not be more blessed with the family I got. They’re weird, nerdy, and goofy but hey you’re stuck with what you got 😉 Just kidding, I wouldn’t trade them for anything! I love that family comes to our house for the holidays and it is always sad to say bye to them. But it is fun when it’s just the Middleton 6 again. More often than not we get annoyed and frustrated with one another, but we’ll forever be a team.

marff3

Pizza and Nails

IMG_4308 IMG_4305

A couple weeks ago my sister and I went to the nail salon together to get manicures. It was a random thought one night and five minutes later we went. She had to wait a little bit for hers, but it was fun to get that quality time in with her because we don’t always get to do that. And later that night, I got the gluten free vegetarian pizza from papa murphy’s with my own cheese. YUM! Spontaneous sister hang outs being pampered with food is never a bad idea.

marff4

Cheap gas

IMG_4322

Seriously, nothing makes anyone more happy then filling their gas tank up for less than $24. The other day my mom got her tank filled up for under $18 because she got it for $0.97 a gallon. I never thought i’d live to see the day. I think I need to call the book of world records for this one. (I know it’s gone up now, but it’s the little things in life, right?)

marff5

Netflix

IMG_4079

And right now my go-to thing is laying in bed and watching Netflix for an inhumane amount of time. And this will be very common in my near future as I am a free woman next week!!! Thank you spring break. I’ve finished Hart of Dixie, Parenthood, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Gilmore girls, and now i’m at a loss of what to watch. Lately, i’ve been watching Friends for a little no-brainer entertainment during classes. But I want something emotional that I can get invested into. You know what i’m saying???

marff6

Going on a walk

IMG_5230IMG_5226IMG_5186 IMG_3477IMG_2851

My thing lately is taking walks. I’m kind of in a season right now where i’m not running much these days. It could be due to my knee problems or just the fact that I got a little tired of it. But walking is a good way to get some fresh air, blast your music, and let your mind wander on whatever you need to get done, whatever is bothering you, or whatever you need extra time to focus on. Walking is such a simple thing that can probably impact you more than you think.

marff7

A good book

IMG_4819IMG_4990IMG_4344

When I was younger I hated reading. I did anything I possibly could not to read. I could never remember anything I read, and it was just frustrating. I started doing bad in school, and then got upset about that and my attitude towards everything just went downhill. I’m on ADD medicine that I take only when I need to, which helps with my focusing. But when you have a good book it’s so much easier to read. In a couple weeks, i’ll show you what i’ve been reading and what I thought about them!

Friday Favorites: Fri-YAY edition

I’m not even going to act like I wasn’t excited for this Fri-YAY to come. Also, it’s casual day at work—do pjs count? Let me know. Now I do remember one of my New Years Resolutions went along with this…

col-newyrres3

But this was a long week. Starting school, working the other three days of the week, homework already, lack of sleep, cold weather, ugh. That’s not Fri-YAY material. That’s more like MON-DANE material. Was that clever?? Really, I would like to go hide back under my covers for a couple hours. But I won’t. I need to be adult-like and go make money. One day i’ll thank myself.

Join in with me as I link up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favorites!

After I got off work last Fri-YAY two of my FAVORITE girls and I went with my family to the Texas Legends basketball game and treated ourselves to a nice, healthy dinner afterwards.

Saturday night was my FAVORITE kind of night. My parents and I went to the local bar (yes, I hang out with my parents on the weekend, and yes I have fun doing it!) to hear a band play, I posted a little about this earlier in the week. Are you not caught up on your Colors of Life reading???!!!!

IMG_4750 IMG_4751

Sunday I turned everyone’s FAVORITE birthday….21!!!! Read about that here.

IMG_4794IMG_4763

janff4

Mon-DANE was so Monday-like that I didn’t take a picture. But how about I leave you with this one today:

IMG_4322

That could turn your Mon-DANE right around. In fact, they’re getting even lower!! Oh, happy day!

janff5

Tuesday is every college student’s LEAST FAVORITE day of the semester. The very first day. I did a heavy sigh as I woke up early Tuesday morning, with my bag packed up, my shoes tied tight, hope I don’t get in a fight. Ohhh, back to school, back to school…..if you didn’t see my post on Instagram, you would have understood my Adam Sandler reference.

IMG_4818

janff6

So I was shopping the other day and I saw one of my FAVORITE sights. These two cute little ol’ ladies were shopping accessories, purses, wallets, belts, bags, you name it. I stalked overheard their conversation and one said “I don’t want to take too long, but i’d like to go look at that purse.” The other one replied, “Oh no don’t worry, you go right ahead and look at that.” Couldn’t you just DIE????? Cannot wait to own my retirement home one day.

IMG_4830

janff7

I’m starting to get the hang of this new school thing. The days get a little long while i’m on campus, but I know my outcome will far surpass the boredom that I have while sitting around look at funky pieces of architecture between classes.

PEACE OUT & HAPPY FRI-YAY!!!!!!

Colors of Life: Crafting & Creativity

Today I decided it was probably time to do a Colors of Life post. So, we’re talking about crafting! It’s kind of weird that this would be a color of my life, but hopefully you’ll see why.

I’m going to be real here and say I actually hated crafting when I was younger. Anything creative I was out. In fact, when we had school projects I would usually wait until the day before in order to start them. It was dumb, but I hated any kind of creative thing. Art was my least favorite specials in elementary school. I’d rather have gone to the library! Haha

I started having to craft when I joined a sorority, because the stereotype is true, sorority girls CRAFT!! Look, I know i’m not going to be the next Picasso or something of that sort, so with that being said let’s make this a no judgment zone? Cool? Cool!

When I got my big in the sorority she gave me crafts, and so when I got my little I made her a bunch of crafts, it’s just what you do! Below are just two crafts that I made for her. I was pretty proud of these, so I decided that maybe I do enjoy being creative and crafting after all.

IMG_1656IMG_1257

Apparently allllll four of my friends just decided to have fall birthdays. There were 3 in October, 1 in November. The first one I made was for Emily (the second one) you’ll be able to meet her soon! When I did my interview for her I got her favorite Bible verse from one of the questions…and turned it into a craft that matched her room.

IMG_2842

Crafting takes a lot of thought and a lot of planning….of which I was not prepared for. With Emily’s craft I started here and did not like it ONE BIT! I ended up with the final product (pictures above) and then I got excited about it.

IMG_2772

My favorite part about crafting is when whoever I give my gift to gets excited about it also and sends me a picture right away. Emily hung her craft up and the picture on the bottom I also gave her because it was yellow and grey, my favorite colors and her favorite colors! It’s meant to be.

IMG_3945

Then I made Maddie’s craft (you’ll meet her soon too).

I also like that crafting forces you to problem solve in a way. I originally planned on making this craft for Maddie, but I didn’t love it and her room had grey and not black in it. So I took them off!

IMG_2770

It then turned to this

IMG_2778

and the finished product of this one.

IMG_3254

She didn’t send me a picture, but I hope it matches her room perfectly!

Reeana was the third October birthday. I’m telling y’all, my friends wear me out here! 😉

I got the idea below on Pinterest and decided to turn it into her background. It sat background finished like that for a couple weeks because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to write on it, and she showed me her favorite verse (also on her MMP) and it was so long.

IMG_2844

However I fit it on there, and she later said I didn’t have to do the whole verse and I felt like an idiot afterwards, but it’s all about learning.

And it turned out like this! I sent her a picture and she said she loved it after my perfectionist self sent her 5 pictures of me “fixing it” hahah she’s a good friend for just saying she likes it!

IMG_3931

And my FAVORITE recent craft is this one I made for myself, go figure right? My FAVORITE pattern is leopard, my FAVORITE color is yellow, and my FAVORITE fabric is burlap (the sides are burlap) and this is my blog’s Bible verse. I just love, love this!

We’ve already talked about how I always have to be busy. It was just the way I was made, I guess. Crafting has become an easy outlet for me to relax. Sometimes when i’m having a weird day i’ll pull out some canvases and start drawing. I NEVER thought i’d be one of those people.

Making these crafts is a thoughtful way to gift for people. I’d prefer a cheap, thoughtful gift over an expensive, last minute gift any day, I think that’s also why these crafts became my friends’ birthday gifts. Because they’re personalized for each of them.

Now I consider crafting to be anything of the creative sort that you make, do you remember these blankets from my whiny edition weekend recap? We made these after they saw mine and they’re precious! Cute and personal gift, too!

I can’t take credit for this one below, because my mom made this. But this is just another example of how to let your creativity shine!

And I can’t forget about my favorite kind of craft ~scrapbooking~

IMG_1107 IMG_1126 IMG_1131

If you’ve been reading around her a while you already know that I enjoy scrapbooking.

 Why do I love crafting?

  1. It gives me something to do.
  2. It (usually) looks good and costs less.
  3. It’s a good way to let my creativity flow.
  4. You can create so many things.
  5. It helps me to use my right-brain a little more and relax from all my hard organization.
  6. If you work with kids-babysit, nanny, teach, etc. this is a fun thing to do with them.

SO, as you can see i’m working on my creativity a little bit. Are you a crafter? Creative? Or super meticulous, left-brained, and organized like me?

Color of Life: White (crafting starts with a blank/white/clean slate)
Maybe I do have a little bit of creativity stored up in there. Find your hobbies. You can always learn new things about yourself. Don’t be afraid to try something new.

Fall Television Week

Good morning, friends!

Today I thought i’d go ahead and talk about my Fall TV shows. Because really, what’s better than sitting on your couch doing nothing but watching tv and probably eating a giant bag of peanut m&ms? I’m kind of a tv show junkie. I’d watch tv shows over movies any day! I love getting emotionally invested in characters and stories and then being so distraught when an episode is over and I have to wait another week until I can find out what happens next. It’s great, it really is. I’ve been known to cry at a Gossip Girl episode. We don’t have to talk about it..

I’ve already told you as part of my morning routine, if I have time I will usually watch a little bit of the Today Show with Kathie Lee and Hoda. I don’t really watch TV during the week (unless i’m eating. it’s right there in the kitchen.) because i’m busy with school and work and all that good stuff, however I record all my shows and if i’ve got time on the weekend I just sit there and binge watch!

Monday

The Voice: NBC at 7:00pm.

tvshow-voice

Ahhhhhhh, the Voice. First of all, i’ve caught myself cracking up at some comments from Blake and Adam. I’ve fallen in love with Pharrell and his sweet personality. And I thought I wasn’t a fan of Gwen until I saw her on this show. I was sad when Shakira and Usher left last season, but this season has been just as good! My mom got me into this show and i’m grateful for that. I love the meaning behind it, and what they have done with it.

Dancing with the Stars/Bachelor or Bachelorette (Hint, whatever is on ABC during this season) at 7:00pm.

tvshow-dancing

My grandpa is a huge Dancing with the Stars fan and every week during our weekly phone call he tells me to watch it. If my mom has it on I might sit and watch it for a little bit, but it’s usually not something I go back and have to watch the recording of.

tvshow-bachelor

Now the Bachelor on the other hand! I love this show. I don’t know why, I just do! I’ve watched since Tristen and Ryan’s time. I’ve been a long-timer you guys. Never missed a season! Cannot wait for Chris in Iowa to premiere, especially with the majority of my family in that great state!

I wanted to record State of Affairs at 9:00pm, but forgot to this week. I love Katherine Heigl especially in Grey’s Anatomy. Any thoughts from those of you that watched?

Tuesday

The Voice: Night two NBC at 7:00.

tvshow-voice

Two nights of this show…it doesn’t get much better than that!

Chicago Fire: NBC at 9:00.

tvshow-chicagofire

My mom and brothers are Chicago Fire fans by happenstance. They told me to watch but I don’t like coming in on shows at the middle. I’ve got to start from Episode 1 of Season 1. So i’m waiting for the first episode to air again. Or come out on Netflix. Whichever is first!

Wednesday

Nashville: ABC at 9:00pm.

tvshow-nashville

My dad and his brothers got me into Nashville for a while, but then at OU I couldn’t ever watch at the time it came on. I didn’t have a way to record in my tiny little cardboard box dorm room. I’m hoping that it will come out on Netflix soon so I can start it over again.

Chicago P.D: NBC at 9:00pm.

tvshow-chicagopd

Chicago Fire leads me to Chicago P.D. I looooved Sophia Bush in One Tree Hill. (Also another good show). I know, I watched a ton of Netflix. Because college. I fell in love with her and saw her a little bit on Chicago Fire when my family has it on, so I think I will love this when I can watch the first episode.

Thursday

Scandal: ABC at 8:00pm

tvshow-scandal
I’ve recently started this show on Netflix so i’m not following along right now on tv, but I can’t wait ’til i’m caught up so I can follow along with all my other Scandal loving peeps. There’s so many of you scandal-ers out there! Which is actually why I started watching it in the first place.

The Vampire Diaries: The CW at 7:00pm.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

The Vampire Diaries is always good. My sister got me hooked a couple years ago. She told me that she was watching this and I told her she was crazy. She asked if I would just watch one episode and I was hooked! I watched the entire 1st season in 2 days. DEDICATION!

Parenthood: NBC at 9:00pm.

tvshow-parenthood

My absolute faaaaavorite show right now is Parenthood. I will not, repeat, will not go a week without missing it. In fact, it’s usually the first recording I watch. I love this show because it’s so real and it’s so relatable. I love seeing how all the different characters work through their real-life problems. It’s good for the human soul!

Friday

None.

 Saturday

Football, football, football!

tvshow-gameday

It’s fall. It’s saturday. It’s college football time. Need I say more?!

Sunday

Revenge: ABC at 9:00pm.

tvshow-revenge

I’m a huge Revenge fan. I used to follow along with CSI and actually wanted to be a Forensic Scientist up until my senior year of high school until I decided it was “too slow for me”. I love Revenge because it’s like CSI in a way. Also, I love Emily Van Camp in this show because she’s so twisted and scary but in a good, interesting way. Make sense?

Alright, that’s my television week. So what am I missing?? Do we watch any of the same shows?? Do share in the comments! And feel free to ask me about any shows, I most likely have seen them.
