This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Friday Favorites: Siblings, Organization, and Rain Boots Edition

I love Friday, love Friday, love Friday, love Friday, love Friday! I consider myself a full-time student and a full-time employee (but i’m technically not a full-time employee) because i’m taking 16 hours this semester and the other days when i’m not at school, I work so i’m not getting home until 5/6/7 most nights. I finally understand what all the hype is about Friday!

Friday night I was basically the best sister ever and went to support Morg at her soccer game in the freeeeeeeezing cold with my momma. One of my favorite things to do is watch my siblings play their sports. I know it’s not normal for people my age, but it’s just me and that’s how i’ve always been! Morgan will be 5 hours away next year so I won’t get to see that many games, so i’m definitely going to go to as many as I can!

Saturday’s are my favorite when it’s one of those hang-out-in-your-pjs-and-get-your-stuff-back-in-order-and-cleaned-up kind of days and that’s what this past weekend was. My momma had me run to the grocery store, but said Rick had to drive. Yikes he’ll be 16 this year, and yikes I should dress better when I go out in public!

Sunday afternoon I met up with Lana, a friend’s friend, and she captured some of my favorite picture to date from one of my favorite online boutiques. I’m posting them in three parts, but you should check out my God made girls post from Monday.

My parents came and met me for lunch at work on Monday because my dad was off for MLK holiday. My mom and I were getting everything set to where we wanted it hung and then the maintenance guy walked in. It was perfect timing and now my office is all decorated with my favorite things. You should check out that post!

Because you can’t sit through entrepreneurship without your favorite Erin Condren spiral notebook and your favorite iced drink from Starbucks. What a way to wake you up on a super tiring Tuesday morning. PS. I got complimented on my Erin Condren today, too! Have you used any EC?

End of Summer/Beginning of Fall Shopping

Late post again, it’s hard to work without internet!

I was walking through the mall the other day and whatever did I see…my favorite word. So even though I wasn’t there to shop, of course I had to stop in.

 IMG_1273IMG_1274

I saw this awesome quote from Forever 21 as I was going up the stairs. I love, love it!

IMG_1272

And what was the first thing I laid my eyes upon? A RACK OF CHEETAH STUFF!!!!!

IMG_1271

So of course, after I saw this I decided it was necessary to start trying on. It was a sign, you know! I tried on an outfit from this rack but it was so awful that I didn’t even want to take a picture for you to laugh at, it was that bad!

This dress below was probably not something I would have chosen for myself but I tried it on. I put this necklace with it (I snuck it in the dressing room, whoops!) and I ended up loving it! Perfect for a summer night or even a nice fall evening. This dress was really comfortable, too.

IMG_1275

I thought this was a cute outfit. I had a fun scarf with it but the dressing room lady took it 😦 It’s the perfect pink for fall especially because it goes with the black. I think it’s also a nice work look.

IMG_1276

I thought this fun dress would be perfect for summer and for the beach. Or just hanging out by the pool…or not by the pool. It’s that easy.

IMG_1277

And the back of it was cool, that’s important, duh! I’m obviously not very coordinated in taking this picture because I was holding my camera really weird.

IMG_1279

And this one is a perfect cover-up when out by the pool or a romper for those late summer/early fall nights when you’re still needing something cool.

IMG_1280

And of course the back was super cute.

IMG_1281

Okay I really liked this cardigan, but you can’t see this bottom.

IMG_1282

Now I would never put this outfit together, which is why I only took the top picture, but I forgot to pick out matching pants. But I wanted to show you how cute this cardigan was. And I love the peach tank top underneath it.

IMG_1283

Now this outfit I think is still really cute for work stuff, so I threw it together. It wasn’t my favorite, but it was polka-dot!

IMG_1284

And this is a must-have. I love this brown color for fall/winter.

IMG_1290

Oh. My. Gosh. Just perfect for fall! I love, love, love, love , looooove this scarf. And it’s CHEETAH!

IMG_1292

And then on my way home I saw my most favorite store. Bargains, bargains, bargains. I got too carried away I forgot pictures again. How does that happen? I do not know.IMG_1293

And there’s totally more where this came from…

Window Furniture Shopping?

Mother and I decided that one afternoon we would fake re-do the downstairs because we have had the same furniture for oh…about my whole life. So randomly one afternoon we hopped in the car and drove here:

IMG_1069

Ahhhhh, I smell good lookin’ furniture. Our main goal was to do the kitchen and our living room. We started with a new kitchen table. We decided we needed a circular table because our rectangle one was hard to put food in the center when you have six plates around it. So we found this one:

IMG_1071

But the problem was that when we have family in town for Christmas and other holidays we need to be able to extend the table and this didn’t extend. So then we found this one. We really liked it and especially that bench on one side of it. Look at the texture of the table in the right picture. We kept this one in mind although it wasn’t circular.

 IMG_1073 IMG_1074

The next table we found was pretty cool. It was a circular table and the “leaf” for extension goes on the outside of the table. We thought it was super clever, but even with the leaf it only fit about 6 people. We still kept it in mind.

IMG_1076

The last kitchen table that we saw is called the “pizza table” can you guess why?? Cause the extensions look like a pizza! You pull the pizza slice out and then pull another thing up to create the extension. Pretty brilliant, but the only problem we had with it was the issue that food would get stuck in the cracks and be hard to clean, because it is the kitchen table and frequently used.

IMG_1079

No more kitchen tables, but then we started to re-do the patio outside. My parents were thinking about having some couples over for drinks on the patio so we thought we would check out the tables and furniture while we were there. This one I particularly liked. It’s big enough to fit 6 people around for snacks and drinks. And the seats are high enough up that you don’t have to fall into your chair.

IMG_1070

I liked this fire pit and the chairs with it. I don’t know why, just ’cause I guess.

IMG_1077

Look what I found while walking around: A LEOPARD LOVE SEAT! Sold.

IMG_1072

And I liked these two things for wall decor:

IMG_1075IMG_1081

And for the BEST part. New family room furniture. We found some others but this was my favorite so this was the only one I took a picture of. This love seat/ottoman/chair/whatever has my heart. It was so comfy that I almost fell asleep there in the middle of the store. Order it for my bedroom, I will use it as a bed! It was THAT awesome.

IMG_1078

And of course the matching couch. I talked my mom into it because you can make the long side shorter and the short side longer. I half-convinced her that it matched our window treatments, but she wasn’t buying it. Figuratively and literally. When it’s time for a new family room, Molly knows how she wants to decorate it!

IMG_1080

We were at SAMs Club the other day and came across this kitchen table. I really liked the chairs and the legs of the table, however it had the grooves that would make for hard cleaning and the chairs probably would fit taller/larger people that well. But still, we liked it. Just not for our house.

IMG_1092

And you can’t of course forget this pretty piece of furniture that we found at Costco while doing our grocery shopping. Look an almost 6 foot teen can fit on this thing. It’s a good size for any room in the house and a good price too.
