This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

October Goals

I know October started a week ago, but I had so much other fun stuff planned last week, that this was the first available day I had to post my monthly goals. This is my recap of September followed by what’s coming for October!!

SEPTEMBER’S GOALS:

  1. Get to Church EVERY Sunday and spend the Lord’s Sabbath day resting.
    1. While I have not physically been at Church every Sunday, I sit in my room usually before bed now and follow along with the sermon series online and take my notes then. While I would have liked to physically have been there, sometimes it just isn’t able to happen. I also changed my availability on Sundays to where they can’t schedule me, and honestly…this.is.the.best.thing.ever. If you work anywhere and can change your availability to no Sunday shifts, do it for yourself! Give yourself a day of rest. You deserve it!
  2. Make 5 new recipes.
    1. Andrea’s Enchiladas
    2. Andrea’s Pulled Pork
    3. Shay’s Chicken Fajita Soup
    4. Morgan’s Olaf Birthday cake
    5. Costco’s Sun-dried Tomato Tilapia
  3. Work out 3-4 times/week.
    1. Check, yes! If i’m not running, i’m walking, going to Yoga, following along with my pilates video, etc. As long as i’m doing some kind of work out, I feel good. And I have made it 3-4 times/week.
  4. Establish a routine, whether it be a weekly/daily/monthly routine.
    1. I posted about my morning routine a couple weeks ago, so check it out! My Sunday mornings have become routine. My dad and I wake up at 7:00am and drive over to the golf course to practice about 2 hours. We get Starbucks on the way there and we get home before everyone else wakes up. Then, i’ll usually head over to yoga and Church afterwards. I looove Sunday mornings!
  5. Buy myself 2 new things because I didn’t do it last month.
    1. I bought myself a new gold bracelet, some fall clothes, and scarves, and entry into the Susan G. Komen race for the cure. And i’m currently waiting on some other goodies to show you 🙂
  6. Grow my blog!
    1. In September, I had 861 views. This makes me way way waaaay excited! I appreciate y’all for making this such a fun thing for me to do, and to look forward to. I also gained 9 followers. And had 12 comment, which are my FAVORITE thing to see.. Along with many non-blogging friends text me and tell me they love my blog. I can’t tell you how happy this makes me! Please keep on and share with people you know!
  7. Get 3/9 of my Christmas presents. And a birthday present for mom!
    1. I decided to underline this, because I didn’t necessarily GET all my gifts, however I did come up with ideas. I just have to turn them into gifts. But i’m just happy I started somewhere.

OCTOBER GOALS:

  1. Internship.
    1. I’m lucky enough to have an HR recruiter as my neighbor. I previously have talked with her and she said she might know someone in need of an intern. So, I want to get in contact with her and find an internship for the spring. Or possibly the summer.
  2. Christmas gifts.
    1. Turn my ideas into tangible presents that I need to wrap. AKA get my presents. I want to have at least half my shopping done by the end of this month. Because after Halloween Thanksgiving, finals, mom’s birthday and Christmas come SUPER FAST.
  3.  Organize my closet.
    1. My closet is all over the place! Since my brother and I switched rooms, I haven’t organized my clothes yet and i’ve got t-shirts with dresses and all that. It drives the OCD in me crazy, so i’m deeming this month the perfect time!
  4. Make Angel Food Cake on Angel Food Cake day.
    1. My calendar tells me that Friday (October 10) is A.F.C day, so of course i’m going to celebrate it!
  5. Finish Revenge and start a book.
    1. This is more about giving myself some down time, but I want to finish season 3 of Revenge on Netflix and get started with another book. I finished Sweet Salt Airand I LOVED IT!!! So did my mom! If you like the beach, blogging, love stories, heart break, you will like it to. For $10!
  6. School stuff.
    1. I finish my government class next week…it’s an express class and then i’ll start History the week after, but I want an A in that class so my transfer GPA will be boosted. Along with that, I need to apply for scholarships to pay for classes next semester.

This is all i’ve got for this month. I think it’s a pretty big/time consuming list, but I think that writing it down will help me accomplish these goals.

What are your goals for this month?
Do we have any of the same ones?

To Houston

I was told Thursday night that I was going to Houston this weekend to drive my dad for my sister’s soccer tournament. I worked Friday night, but we were going Saturday morning and then came home last night. One of my September goals is to work out 3-4 times/week, so I woke up extra early Saturday morning to run (about 7) which is sooooo unlike me. I’m not a morning worker-outer. So this is my “i’m-yawning-it’s-too-early-to-work-out face”. Clever, huh??

My goofy father has to clean the car before he goes on a road trip. Goofy.

IMG_1953

Of course, we have to stop at Starbucks for dad. He was able to drive because this was during the day, which is why I had to go along because he is blind in one eye. So I had to drive most of the time.

IMG_1956

And on the way down, we saw cotton fields. And the state penitentiary.

IMG_1959 IMG_1961

And we were ready for a snack by 1:00. 2 hours on the road is just so exhausting, you know. That’s what boredom does to you.

IMG_1960

Once we got there we got some BBQ for lunch. We like to go to local places that we would normally can’t go to. We got some chopped brisket and sausage on the side.

 IMG_1962

Morgan’s game wasn’t until 5:00, so after lunch we went back to the hotel to read. Dad caught up on the paper and I got farther into Sweet Salt Air. Y’all. SO GOOD!!! I couldn’t put it down.IMG_1964

The game got rained out. You can kind of tell from this picture, but I thought this was a beautiful picture from our creator.

IMG_1966

For dinner Saturday we ordered some King Crab legs and other seafood. My dad is the king of seafood, i’m telling you, I even said it in our orange beach vacation. It was sooooooooo delicious!!!!

IMG_1971

Then afterwards I wanted to go look around at stores, because we had nothing else to do. So TJ Maxx and Bed Bath and Beyond it was. Our thing is to do last minute BBB shopping for my mom…and she knows it to. Dad even said “it’s just not the same unless we’re here last minute with everyone else” so we didn’t get anything for her…yet. Don’t worry, we will!

IMG_1973

She haaaaaaates candles, because dad ALWAYS gets her candles every year. It’s just a joke now.IMG_1977

I’m telling you…

IMG_1987IMG_1988

At TJ Maxx we found dad some good ol’ bargains. He was digging this whole shopping thing.IMG_1976

Then we went back to the hotel and read until we fell asleep. Yesterday morning Morgan’s game was at 11. So we got breakfast at the hotel and had to drop her off an hour early. On the way to her fields she scouted Trader Joe’s. So YES WE WENT! I got my yummy iced coffee because my mom said she couldn’t find it here.

IMG_1978 IMG_1979

And of course, a stop at Starbucks. Y’all. Starbucks has mini!!!!! So I got one this time. Java Chip Frap with soy. Ahhhh haven’t had one of those in forever. And dad got his two drinks. Goofy.

IMG_1980 IMG_1981

And we watched some soccer in Houston humidity….oh my gosh i’m so glad I don’t live there.

IMG_1982

After her game we went back to the hotel room for showers and Applebee’s then got on the road. And on the way back I attempted a picture of the Sam Houston statue. Kind of hard from the driver’s seat but this is the best I could do.

IMG_1984

Needless to say it was a fun, spontaneous vacation. Plenty of daddy-daughters time, food, starbucks, and humidity. It beats working for sure.

P.S. I recently signed up for the Susan G. Komen race for the cure, if you feel inclined to donate my fundraising goal is $100. Follow this link http://northtexas.info-komen.org/site/TR?px=19280923&fr_id=4135&pg=personal and make your donation 🙂

A peak inside my room.

My room is definitely my favorite space in my house. I thought I would go ahead and show you around the sacred land….So, come on in!

Do. Not. Disturb. Probably. Napping.
IMG_1880

Kidding. I wasn’t napping, i’m snapping pics. Okay the four of us have switched rooms about ummm a jillion times, because everyone wants a different room for a different reason. So, the room I occupied in high school was taken over by my sister. When I went to OU, I was put in the guest room 😦 during my transition deciding what the heck I was going to do with my life I was still in the guest  room. Once I officially decided to transfer and live at home while I am finishing my degree, I told my parents that I need my own space to study and put all my crapola (cause it was EVERYWHERE) from moving back. So they switch my youngest brother and I. It really did make sense. My clothes didn’t even fit into that closet it was so tiny, like c’mon. Anyways, that is the reason that the walls and furniture do not match my room at all.

So you walk in and there immediately is my bed. With my adorable comforter momma made me (there’s an “M” monogrammed at the bottom) with my leopard pillows and such. #cheetahprintforever

IMG_1864

See how cute?! I only wish the beautiful window treatments she made me could fit in this room. I love my momma and her creativity!

IMG_1905

Laying on my bed this is what I see:

My clock on top of the book cases (handy when I may have missed my alarm). My TV on the left side and my “desk” on the ride side. I had to improvise with this stuff. And all my cookbooks, books, movies, exercise videos are in there as well.

IMG_1884

This is where I go every morning at 6:30 to check other blogs and post mine! I know, I know it’s a trek. But I seem to make it. I like checking my blog here because it gets me out of bed to get going in the morning.

IMG_1858

Next to the book shelves is the entrance to my bathroom and closet. Above are some cute shoe pictures with some cheetah print on them.

IMG_1860

The wall to the left of my bed sits my ol’ pal big brown bear with of course pictures of friends and family, and shoes on canvases. I really love that quote on the wall. My mom would sing it to us before bed at night and so she found it and bought it. She couldn’t find anywhere to put it so I may or may not have stolen it. Thanks mom!

IMG_1862

In between big brown bear and my bed is my exercise equipment. Dumbells, ball, pilates video with a mat and my yoga video with my blocks. And of course my fan remote, people magazine, and Sweet Salt Air
are there waiting for me tonight! Y’all this book is so good this far. I’m only maybe half way.

IMG_1906

This is more hidden behind my door but, Texas and baseball. Duh and duh! This is also where I keep my music stuff. You have to have space for your music, you just do.

IMG_1863

Yep, a bunch of randomness all packed into a tiny room, and I love my little space!
And that’s about it! Thank you for choosing Molly airlines and we hope you choose to fly with us another time.

Happy Thursday, don’t worry you’re almost to the weekend!!!!
