This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

New To The Blog?

So this weekend I’m going out of town which means there is just no time for blogging.

With that said, I thought I would make today’s post a little introduction post. I know I have new readers that probably don’t really know anything about Colors of Life.

First of all…thanks for reading! I’m so happy you’re here!

This me…

IMG_1650

I’m Molly. I’m 22 years old. I’m currently headed to Vegas for the first time in my life (haha).

I’m a huge baseball fan…especially the Boston Red Sox.

I love Jesus. I volunteer in my Church twice a week (on Sundays and Wednesdays) and enjoy every second of it.

I’m currently studying for my Health Coach certification and trying to start my own business afterwards.

I’m a Business Admin major with an emphasis in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior where I’ve worked in HR for a year and a half.

I love my family, I mean love them. I’m super protective of my family members and would choose them over anything.

I’ve dealt with anxiety, depression, and an eating disorder and while those things do not define me I still talk about them. I’m hoping that through that I can help someone else in those situations. This is also why I have such a huge passion for helping others specifically in the form of health coaching.

You could call me a military brat. My dad recently retired but was in the Air Force for 30 some odd years.

And really there is so much more!

If you want to read more you should check out my introduction post from January. And this post on what Colors of Life is all about.

You can always read guest blogs I’ve done for other people:

And follow me on social media too:

I’d love for you to pin some of my pins from my “Colors of Life” board that you have specifically liked reading too. Oh, and follow me on Instagram to see what kind of crazy I may be getting into this weekend!

The four of us are re-uniting in Arkansas…but since it was Morgan and JP graduating last time, this time we’re celebrating Emily!!!

See ya Monday!

Friday Favorites

Hellloooooo Friday. So happy to see you!

If you’re a blogger, link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci and share your FAVORITES. If you’re a reader, so glad you’re here!!

febff1

This goes without saying…but my FAVORITE family is back in action tonight. Oh, I am pumped…as are most of you from reading everyone’s What’s Up Wednesday post this week.

fullerhouse

I might stay up and see if it comes out at midnight (which will have passed by the time you read this) otherwise I guess I will have to watch after work sometime. Which is going to be interesting considering i’m working both my jobs today. NOOOOO I NEED MORE TIME TODAY!

febff2

A couple weeks ago, I mentioned that our pastor challenged each of us to fast social media for one day.

And it was the best thing ever.

And then a couple weeks ago, I mentioned that I was going to go a whole weekend without social media.

And it was the best thing ever.

And now I do it one day every single week. It’s my FAVORITE day of the week now. I loved it so much that I could probably give up social media for an extended amount of time, but it’s also how I engage with you guys so I don’t want to! You’ll be surprised how difficult it is. I would open up Instagram multiple times, remember I wasn’t suppose to, and close it out immediately. But you’ll also be surprised with the amount of free time that you have. Communicate with your family! Get some work done! Don’t look at other people’s pictures and be like “wow she looks great why don’t I?” And in today’s world, I think a lot of us could use that every now and then.

IMG_2833

I would seriously challenge you to do this. Just one day – no Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, Pinterest, nothing. I told my girls to do it one day this week after a long conversation about comparison at our retreat.

febff3

Speaking of retreats, I want to recap this past weekend, even though I mentioned it on Wednesday. But it was just so GOOD and I don’t want to forget it!

Friday night we had to be at one of our campus for check in and I of course go in my signature outfit. Cute sweater? Check. Jeans? Check. Booties? Check. Long necklace? Check. Selfie? Check. A room that I just switched into and haven’t organized yet? Check.

IMG_0705

Friday night they catered Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, we had worship and service, and then we went back to our host home for a Bible study and girl talk. After Bible study, the girls wanted McFlurry’s. Who are we to deny them such a glorious dessert? PS…I MISS MCFLURRY’S. They got a kick out of my wedges with socks, but I didn’t wanna wear booties and my feet were cold. So I improvised!!!

IMG_0710

Saturday morning, we woke up and did a Bible study before going to bowl that morning. I sat at the kitchen table drinking some coffee and chatting with one of the girls.

IMG_0711

After bowling we had free time and our first stop was to Starbucks because this was my group, remember???? Haha, total shocker but this was my first Starbucks in weeks!!

IMG_3081

We hung out at our host home for a couple hours while the girls went swimming and took naps. Then we headed up to the Church for a cookout, service, and it was my FAVORITE night. So 15 passenger van selfie was in order.

IMG_0716We broke up into small groups and I had 3 girls with me who just opened up completely about stuff that’s been going on in their lives, things that were bothering them, and their relationships with Jesus. This night was the reason I started praying about volunteering with high school girls in the first place. There were tears, prayers, re-dedications to Christ, and lots of hugs. At the end of our conversation the girls said: “wow, that felt so good to talk about. We don’t have to do anything else this weekend because we’ve accomplished everything we wanted to”.

Cue the tears. Except I don’t cry…but if I did. I WOULD HAVE!

IMG_0720

After service, we left the Church and the girls requested Braum’s. And thus #friesbeforeguys was born. BECAUSE I AM A GREAT LEADER AND KNOW WHAT’S TRULY IMPORTANT IN LIFE. 😉

IMG_0727

We went back, hung out, snap chatted, and talked. Us leaders went to bed before the girls because we can’t hang! Megan and I shared a room so it was fun getting to know her a little better and realizing how much we have in common 🙂 I am so thankful that I was able to work with Jen and Megan this weekend.

IMG_0731

We all went to sleep and woke up Sunday morning in desperate need of some coffee. Us 4 went to Starbucks again and the other girls went to Smoothie King.

IMG_0732

And then we went to our third service and went home. I’m still trying to catch up on sleep i’m so tired. But it was SO worth it.

febff4

Because I have been getting so many questions about the food i’m posting lately, I decided one day next week I will post about them. If you’re one of those people, be on the look out. That means you’ve got to come back next week so I can share some of my FAVORITE recipes!!

If you have any requests for particular recipes I have talked about, for recipes you’re not sure that i’ve made, or recipes you’d like me to make…leave them in the comments or e-mail me.

febff5

As for being gone the past two weeks, it was so worth it. But coming back and seeing your comments about missing me?? Also worth it!!!! You all are my FAVORITE. I’m not sure what i’m going to do in the future, but it’s possible that I might start taking one week off a month or something like that. I could go into a lot of detail, but I learned a lot during that time. I’ll just keep you posted. But seriously thanks for your sweet words about my return. XOXOXO

challengequote

Alright. That’s enough for one post. ‘Cause you know I could go on! 🙂

One more thing: Bible Study girls, I will be posting Week 8, 9, and 10 in the next couple weeks. Don’t forget about our study. Catch up beforehand by clicking HERE.

To Louisiana For Morgan

This past weekend I set out to Louisiana with sister time on the mind. We moved her in the very first weekend of August. Then, my dad needed someone to drive with him at the end of August to her first game so I went. The brothers and I had plans to drive to one of her away games that was closer, but we never made it. I asked her if she wanted me to just come up one weekend and I could stay with her, she said yes, so we made plans for this past weekend since I hadn’t seen her in about 2 months

I took a half day at work so by noon on Friday I was southbound on I-45 to Louisiana…coffee in hand. You just have to on a 6 hour drive.IMG_9564

I arrived at 5:30, which is of course when she had to be at the field for her game that night. I met her in front of the field house for a hello hug and then took her dorm keys to go put my stuff in there and hang out for a little while until I had to be at the game.

IMG_9566

At 6:50 they started announcing the starters and Morgan’s name was called. #proudsistermoment

IMG_9568

She told me to get there a little before start time because she had a ball to throw to me. I just said okay, but mainly because I knew what that meant. We used to do this in high school.

IMG_9569

I don’t know how it started but somehow the siblings started calling me Giss pronounced like it rhymes with siss. Anyways she told me that her teammates saw it and thought she called me “Jizz” so they wrote it on there. So funny. I brought this to work to put in my office as a little way to make me smile when I look at it.

IMG_9570

Within 15 minutes MORGAN SCORED HER FIRST COLLEGE GOAL!!!!! And I was hooping and hollering. She told me she was going to turn around and point to me, but she chickened out. Ugh. But I was so so so so proud of her. They ended up winning the game with her 1 goal. YAY! And at halftime we were introduced to some costume contest kiddos.

IMG_9572

And after the game we went back to Morgan’s dorm for her to shower and then headed to a local Mexican restaurant for some fajitas, chips-n-salsa (I could live off this), and a margarita!!! I had some marg leftover but didn’t want to leave it because I paid 12 darn dollars for that thing. And since you can’t take open alcohol we asked for a togo cup for water, threw my margarita in there, and bolted out of the restaurant hahah.

IMG_9574

Then we went back to her room to watch some Grey’s Anatomy and call it nights. Her schools fall break was this weekend so there weren’t any students there for us to go out, but we enjoyed hanging out and watching movies. Now, doesn’t this make you wish you were still in a dorm 😉 Morgan’s obsession with Spiderman wore off on her pumpkin that she carved the other weekend.

IMG_9576IMG_9575

Saturday morning we hit IHop pre-practice. This was the worst iHop experience ever. We ended up not even paying for our food and tipping out waitress. The manager was rude to us as well and we called our mom as we left to tell her she’d need to bail us out of jail later 😉

IMG_9577

While Morg was at practice I wasted time in her dorm watching friends…then doing crunches…then looking through her food…and brewing coffee that I didn’t even want. Longest hour and a half ever!!

IMG_9578

After her practice we came back so she could change…into another freaking t-shirt because that’s all homegirl wears. But to be honest so do I. I can’t blame her that much. We went up to the mall to do a little shopping.

IMG_9580 IMG_9582

And afterwards went to a restaurant she is OBSESSED with and has taken everyone that has come to visit her. Her dish is basically a Hawaiian pizza on salmon. Mine was salmon with shrimp, artichokes, mushrooms, and tomatoes on top. Both were so delicious and I totally see why she takes everyone there!

IMG_9586 IMG_9587

After dinner we went to Old Navy, did some grocery shopping for her, then went back to her dorm for another successful movie night consisting of a chick-flick and The Wild Thornberrys movie because we Middleton girls are crazy.

IMG_9588

Sunday morning she woke up late so we opted for a breakfast at her cafe, to which I always sample everything. Because when it’s unlimited, you have to. It’s so funny that everywhere you go in Lousiana there is red beans and rice plus grits offered. (The lighting is really weird it’s not that my food is discolored FYI)

IMG_9590

She left me at the cafe in all my gluttonous glory while she went to the field for her game. I didn’t have a key so I had to walk over there to get a key so that I could shower and pack up. And wow this is a flattering picture.

IMG_9592

They unfortunately lost this game in overtime because the ref called a handball in the goalie’s box. STUPID. Refs that call that type of stuff are ridiculous. But it didn’t stop me from being a proud sis this weekend. Morgan has done so well with soccer and school and making friends and all things college. I miss her a ton but I love seeing her do what she does out of the field.

IMG_9599

About halfway through my drive home she realized that I had her socks that we bought this weekend, so I took a picture to make her mad. Hehe.

IMG_9606

And on my way home I also said goodbye to ol’ Sam Houston.

IMG_9607

And I always hear people saying they stopped at Buccee’s or they’re wearing a shirt with the little beaver on it. If you’re not aware, it’s just a really big and popular gas station in Madisonville, Texas. I think it’s other places too though. I stopped in for a potty break and to get some water and look around to see what all the hustle and bustle was about.

IMG_9608

I mean they had a variety of things. I think they are known for their beaver nuggets, which I almost got but I just wasn’t wanting anything sweet, so I got a fruit bowl. Which was still good! And so fresh!

IMG_9609

Less than 30 minutes outside of Dallas I hit this awwwfffuulllllll traffic. It just so happened the day I was driving through and the day after from 6pm-6am they were doing construction on 2 lanes of the highway. COOL.

IMG_9610

But eventually I hit D-Town and boogied all the way through to home.

IMG_9617

And got up early Monday morning for work. It’s hard being an adult sometimes. But it was so worth it all just to spend some time with my sis and see her goal in person. I love weekends like this. Thanks for having me, sister!!!

Weekend Recap: Valley is married and I’m still single ;)

This past Saturday one of my friends, Valley tied the knot. Valley and I both knew of each other in high school because we played on the volleyball team at rival high schools in our town. I then got a job at the restaurant (the one I worked at for about 5 years) and she’d been there for a couple months already. Surprisingly she trained me my very first day on the job. We were both friends with the same people, but didn’t actually start becoming friends until after high school.

IMG_7304

We went to her Bachelorette party last weekend

IMG_7138

and this weekend we watched her walk down the aisle.

IMG_7306

I met Trent, her husband, a couple of months ago and then saw him at Valley’s little boy’s 1st birthday. Trent is an awesome guy, loves Jesus, and is so perfect for Valley. After their ceremony the wedding party took pictures and then came to the reception and Valley and Trent had their first dance.

IMG_7307

They cut the bride’s cake.

IMG_7315

And then the groom’s cake.

IMG_7309

And while they were doing that Valley’s little boy Clay was crawling around everywhere! Love that little boy. He is so precious.

IMG_7313

After they toasted their champagne, cut the cake, danced, and took some pictures they came down to the dance floor again.

IMG_7322

Trent’s brother and Valley’s sister were the maid of honor and best man. So then they gave their speeches.

IMG_7324

And after that we got to say hi to them, so I took some pictures with the beautiful bride and groom. Love Mr. and Mrs. Havens! Right now they are on their honeymoon to Maui (jealous!).

IMG_7328

The girls I went with and I left after we got to see the couple, but took some pictures outside because the sunset was so beautiful.

IMG_7330

I had family in town still, so I came home and met them at an ice-cream shop where they were eating. Then we came home and played some cards. I love weddings and I love family time. Needless to say, I loved this last Saturday!

Weekend Recap: Morgan’s Graduated and I’m old.

Hi everyone!!!! This weekend/week has been crazy. Within a week we’ve managed to bring in 7 family members, graduate Morgan, attend graduation parties, throw a graduation party, make it to Church and baseball games, spend lots of time out by the pool and on top of that I went to Valley’s wedding, started my summer class, and we had a huge project thrown our way at work. I’ll never complain about having things to do and being busy, but boy am I exhausted! However, there’s no rest for the weary and we need to get you caught up on life. Today’s post I just decided to recap Morgan’s graduation weekend…..GOSH I FEEL OLD.

You probably saw this on Friday, but Morgan and I spent the afternoon Thursday laying out and being lazy by our pool.
IMG_7263

Friday morning the aunts, mom, and I kicked off Morgan’s graduation day by drinking mimosas in the kitchen! We used Giada’s Strawberry Lemon Basil mimosa recipe and Aunt Connie was not a fan if you couldn’t tell…because “It tastes like weeds”.IMG_7273Mom and I make these mimosas for pretty much any holiday. We’re huge fans.

IMG_7276

Cheers to getting one more kid out of the house!

IMG_7269

We probably got in the pool during the day on Friday and did nothing else but eat. Morgan’s ceremony was at 7:30pm on Friday night – AKA the worst possible time a graduation could be held. They played the seniors’ slideshow and look, she’s legit.

IMG_7281

2 hours later and we’ve got another high school graduate in our family. We love our sister. But we hated this lighting! Since it was 10:00 by the time she was done and we found her our pictures all turned out terrible. Like I said, 7:30pm graduation should not be a thing.

IMG_7284

Three years ago I was the one in the blue gown graduating. A lot has changed in those three years for all six of us, but especially for me. I did a lot of growing up and just like everyone else, Morgan will too. I’m just excited to see where she will be three years from now when Rick is wearing the blue gown. I’ll be in the real world…someone help!!!!

DSC02245IMG_7288

I posted the pictures of my graduation on Facebook titled this one below: “The two people who are literally the reason I am who I am today” or something of that nature. And it’s so true. I didn’t start appreciating my parents and what they did for me until probably my senior year. Morgan, Rick, Ryan and I are blessed immeasurably but especially when it comes to these two. We just got plain lucky.

DSC02267IMG_7292

My dad has two brothers and my mom has two sisters. Since i’m the oldest the two oldest of their siblings are my Godparents, and the two youngest of their siblings are Morgan’s Godparents.

DSC02255IMG_7294

My dad’s brothers came from Virginia to our graduations. They usually come every Christmas, but it’s always fun come graduation season when we get to see them two times in one year!

DSC02250IMG_7296

And then there’s me and my girl. Morgan and I haven’t always been the closest of siblings, especially being sisters. We have very different personalities for the most part, but when we do get along and hang out it’s a lot of fun. I’ll miss having another girl around to get my nails done with or tag along with me to Hobby Lobby or pick on the brothers with me.

DSC02268IMG_7302

Love you Morgan Paige!!! You are going to be fabulous at McNeese next year. I cannot wait to see how God uses you on the soccer field and off the soccer field.

Saturday morning I was designated errand girl and from 10-1 was out running to the grocery store and picking things up for Morgan’s graduation party open house. About 12 when I was going to pick up the last thing I slide through the Starbucks drive-thru for a double shot of espresso. Girlfriend needed it.

IMG_7303

It just so happens that I didn’t take a single picture of Morgan’s graduation party. I asked her if she had any, so if she does i’m planning on updating this post. If she doesn’t i’ll be pretty upset that I failed epically at picture taking – WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?!

I hope you all had a great weekend (even though it’s Wednesday)!

Accidental 3 Day Weekend: Part 2

Today i’m finishing up my recap of the best weekend. Part 1 is here. Don’t miss out, I know you’ll regret it!! 😉

Reeeewind back to Saturday afternoon. After I got my hair done I met up with Emily and Tyler. They were eating (of course) and then we went to run errands for her dad. Saturday selfie at Walmart curtain shopping. I know….BAD TO THE BONE.

IMG_7152

One of our holiday breaks freshman year of college, Emily’s mom made us mudslides. And ever since then i’ve craved one every time I see her. We’ve been talking for years, literal years we’re seniors, about making mudslides again. So we finally made it to the liquor store to buy the mudslide mix after getting our ice-cream at Wally World.

We obviously need to go to alcohol school or whatever because it was absolutely disgusting!!!!! And guess what? Mudslide mix has cream in it. And guess what? People who are allergic to lactose will get sick when they are stupid enough not to realize mudslide mix has cream…..

IMG_7155

Finally after a little while I was feeling better and Emily was craving food from Bucca di Beppo…so we went and got some food. Look at my dates? So cute, so cute.

IMG_7169

After we got back to Emily’s, Tyler and I left. Sunday morning came fast when I was awaken mid-dream to the standard iPhone alarm for Sunday School with my favorite little 4 and 5 year olds. Goodness, these kiddos are just so sweet!! One little girl always comes up to me to tell me that her mom and I have the name. And we spell it the same way!!! #twins

church

After my Sunday school session was over I rushed home, grabbed some food, changed, and got ready to leave for the Red Sox/Rangers game in Arlington with my 3 favorite guys. Dad and the brothers.

IMG_7173

We got there about 40 minutes early and as soon as we sat in our seats we got back up to grab some food and some drinks. When in Rome…

IMG_7174

It’s impossible to get boys to take pictures. Scratch that, it’s impossible to get Middleton boys to take pictures with you. But I told them since this was their birthday present from me they had to take a picture.

IMG_7177

Now the absolute best part! Have y’all ever met your hero? Whoever that may be to you. Someone you look up to. Someone you want to be like. Well, at the game on Sunday I was randomly looking around and saw a man in a green shirt walking down the aisle a section over from us. I thought he looked familiar and then it hit me! That’s Mr. Lowe…I awkwardly stalked watched him walk down the rest of the stairs and saw him hand something to Shay. Yes, like Mix and Match Mama Shay!! On the exact same row. Just one section over. I know. I had a mini freak out session with myself. The brothers wouldn’t understand, so I had to freak out by myself. I kept going back and forth about whether or not I should go over there, what I would say, etc. etc. I knew that if I didn’t, I would regret it later on. I couldn’t even tell you what I said I was so nervous to be meeting her, but I can tell you I just adore her even more than I did before. And her dad! I’m pretty sure he complimented my shirt (I knew I liked them!)…but again I couldn’t tell you the conversation that we had. Ha! I asked Shay if we could snap a picture and then let her be to enjoy her daddy/daughter time while I went back to hang out with my dad. It’s so cool that we both really relish that special time with our dads and the Red Sox. I live in the town over from her, so I had always hoped one day I would finally get to meet her. And how perfect that it happened to be at the Red Sox/Rangers game?!

IMG_7178

Here’s the picture that I made the boys promise me I could have for taking them to the game as their early birthday presents 😉

IMG_7181

We love us some Dustin Pedroia! And seats right behind home plate (that also gave us access to a suite!)

IMG_7183

It’s was so hot outside – thankfully and unfortunately. I knew I would get some sun, but the tops of our legs started burning so I had to put my feet up for a little bit.

IMG_7187

We had to leave at the top of the 9th to get home. Which of course was right before Hamilton’s hit that cost the Sox the game. It’s ’cause we left of course. But they were handing out free Coca-Cola, so the brothers were allllllll about it.

IMG_7192

We walked into the house at 5:45, Morgan’s baccalaureate started at 6:00, and I smelled. Mom sent us this picture beforehand and told us to start shedding a tear already.

IMG_7195

I changed quickly and made it only 10 minutes late to Morgan’s thing. I think Baccalaureate is only something we do in our area – I might be mistaken – but essentially all of the graduates are linked to a long ribbon where we each have a rose. As we walk up onto the stage we cut in between our rose and the person’s behind us to signify us breaking off and leaving each other to venture out on our own. They announce where each student is going to college and their future plans. Baccalaureate is just a religious ceremony that we’ve had since I can remember.

IMG_7198

Afterwards the parents and their girls got a picture. The brothers didn’t have to come…brats!

IMG_7204

And basically i’m her paparazzi. “Molly, come take this picture!”

IMG_7213

My mom snapped this picture and I just think it signifies our relationship. I’m always wanting to be around her and hang out and she’s like nope, I want nothing to do with you. That’s okay…I know she’ll love me next year when she starts missing home 😉

IMG_7221

Ugh – 2 1/2 years younger, but she gets to be taller.

IMG_7226

Momma and her girls.

IMG_7234

Morgan graduates Friday night, and to be honest i’m still in shock that it’s actually happening. Not that I didn’t think she couldn’t do it but because it just means we’re all getting older. I look back now and it feels like I was just the one walking across the stage in the blue gown. But in that time it took forever for me to make it this far. High school to college is a huge transition, but I have no doubt this one will rock the real world. Don’t worry you’ll be hearing more about her next week when I recap her ceremony…..no tears yet!!

Accidental 3 Day Weekend: Part 1

There’s truly nothing better than a good weekend. And this past weekend was just that, but possibly better than good…like greeeeaaatttt! You ready to hear all about it?!?! It’s so much good it’s going to be broken up into two different posts. I KNOW! And so much good I probably look like this guy right now!

weekend

Well, if you’ve been reading this blog you know that I work Monday, Wednesday, Fridays. This week, Morgan had a senior event Friday morning, so I asked my boss if we could switch around my days and i’d go in Thursday instead of Friday…so I did. Therefore, Friday morning was spent celebrating my baby sister becoming my not so baby sister anymore.

IMG_7082

At Senior Day they announce each student with the grade they came into our school district. Once that class is out they share “remember whens” and it’s the next grade level’s turn. Morgan was one of the first ones to go…we’ve been here since I was in Kindergarten. Then there is a talent portion and a video that’s played asking the seniors what they will miss when they graduate.

IMG_7083

I paid more attention to trying to snap a picture of her then seeing her walk across the stage. Electronics….

IMG_7084

There she is. She’s real, people! Super proud to be her big sister. And just a forewarning there will be more Morgan pics coming up this next week 😉

IMG_7088

It was a lot longer than I remember, so Emily and I sent selfies back and forth to each other during the ceremony. And realized we had the same arm candy on….like true best friends or what?!

IMG_7089

Emily and I have been best friends since middle school, and Morgan and JP (Em’s little brother) have been best friends since probably Emily and I were. We’ve been known to all hang out together. No shame! Em and I are still wondering how this was us THREE YEARS AGO….

IMG_7240

Proud of my girl!!!

IMG_7090

And I love, love this girl!! So glad she and I can feel old together as our younger siblings walk across the stage Friday night.

IMG_7093

Morgan and her best friend Savanna snapped a picture, too.

IMG_7095

And then mom called in the reinforcements…aka me…to help her run errands. She gets sidetracked when i’m not around. But mostly, we just finished up last minute graduation party details.

IMG_7097

We got home and I immediately got ready for my friend Valley‘s bachelorette party in Dallas Friday night. We got down to Dallas just in time for dinner, so we ordered us a nice sized glass of wine!!

IMG_7100

I shared the salmon and smashed potatoes from Bob’s Steakhouse with my friend. And it comes with a giant honey glazed carrot on every dish. I know what you’re thinking…we all were too 😉

IMG_7101

After dinner we all headed up to the hotel room for her lingerie party. This was our view looking at Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas. SO pretty!

IMG_7104

We were at the Omni Hotel 🙂

IMG_7105

We all sipped on some champagne while we came up with crazy names for all her lingerie.

IMG_7106

Most gorgeous bachelorette I ever saw!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_7108

They’re going to make a menu of the names we came up with for her lingerie for Valley’s husband to “choose from” during their honeymoon. They’re going to Maui…no big deal. You hate her too? Join the club.

IMG_7109

I grabbed a pic with this beauty before we all headed downstairs to go out on the town.

IMG_7115

And because candid’s are my favorite. And I love the way i’m looking at her. We should just be getting married or something because this is what #truelove looks like.

IMG_7119

Vals and all of her high school friends that were at her Bachelorette party!

IMG_7138

And before they all left I had to get one more picture.

IMG_7127

The girls that I rode down with had to leave early, so I left with them. I got home and was craving popcorn. I made this bowl, poured some butter on top, and devoured the entire thing. And all was right in the world last Friday night!

IMG_7135

Saturday morning my aunt flew in from Houston for Morgie’s graduation. We went and picked her up and using our good hostess manners, we treated her to a “welcome back” Starbucks.

IMG_7140

I then spent the rest of the morning (2 hours) attempting to figure out Pinterest what I was going to do with my hair because I had an appointment at 1:30….1:30 rolled around, I still had no idea what I was going to do with it so I told my girl she could work her magic and this is where I ended up. All the emotions at one time!

IMG_7141

I came home to brat 1 and brat 2 napping in my bed. Hello, who invited you two?!

IMG_7145

….so make sure you come back and read the rest of my weekend, it involves new hair, LOTS of good stuff, and these two….

IMG_7147

I know! You’re probably as excited as they look!!!

Happy Monday!

Memorial Day Weekend

I said I wasn’t going to post today, yet here I am. Lucky you 😉

Let’s recap the great three-day weekend we just had! Friday I left work about an hour early because pretty much everyone was gone for the holiday weekend. I came home and did my work-out. Our family didn’t really have plans, so my dad and brothers decided to go to our high school’s baseball team playoff game. And I tagged along. Our high school’s team went pretty far, but ended up losing this game. I. Miss. High School. Baseball. My brother played on the JV team this year. Can’t wait to watch him at the Varsity level next season!

IMG_6968

Ry wouldn’t take a selfie with me, so I had to take this. Just 3 Middletons watching our favorite sport.

IMG_6969

Saturday morning I woke up and was craving pancakes. Stop it, I know what you’re thinking! They’re not burned they’re just gluten free, okay?!

IMG_6972

And then sat at the kitchen table drinking coffee and blogging the rest of the morning while it was raining because….so relaxing!

IMG_6974

And then I went to Em‘s house Saturday night to watch a movie with her, Tyler, and her dad for his birthday. He made us watch Something About Mary (I think that’s what it’s called) and it was aaaawwwfffuuuullllllllll. Haha! Tyler, Emily, and I hated it!

IMG_6997

So after the movie was over, Tyler and I went home and crashed. Sunday morning brought the normal Yoga and Church. Plus I added a lunch date with Reeana at Dickey’s – aka our restaurant. In high school we went here every single Sunday pretty much after Church with her parents. I was basically her adopted sister. (Sorry about the mid-talking pic of you, Ree!)

IMG_7004

I came home to see mom made the siblings homemade cheesey pizza, LIKE WHAT?! This looks straight out of a restaurant, I was so impressed with her. Not to mention it smelled delicious and was full of gluten and lactose so I couldn’t have a bite.

IMG_7005

At lunch Reeana asked if I wanted to go hiking. I was just thinking the other day how I wanted to go hiking, so I said for sure let’s go! She came and picked me up and we went about 45 minutes away to what was suppose to be a beautiful trail to hike.

IMG_7023

As soon as we got there they told us everything was closed off because of flooding. Seriously, Texas, seriously? We were super upset we drove out there to not be able to see anything, so we went driving around near that site and saw a bunch of cars parked on the side of the road. Naturally we stopped and got out to see that there were a lot of people lined up fishing. We decided it would be brilliant to make our own trail and hike up the hill next to where all these people were.

IMG_7010

And it was…until I started taking on water with soaking wet shoes and socks. Thank you, flooding! And even after putting on bug spray I ended up with a ton of bug bites all over my legs! But it was fun getting to talk to and spend time with this girl. We live so close to each other, but still don’t get to see each other that much thanks to big kid jobs and her studying for the LSAT.

IMG_7025

The view was still pretty despite the long grass we went trekking through. Could you imagine what life would be like had God not given us trails, and greenery, and rain, and friends, and on and on an on? Sometimes I have those moments where i’m sitting there thinking “Wow how awesome of a Creator we have to give us all of this!”.

IMG_7028

She throws up this sign and I still am friends with her. I don’t know – I ask myself why all the time 😉 #hornsdown

IMG_7018

I love being outdoors. We have plans to come again and go on the normal trail when it opens. IF IT EVER STOPS RAINING IN TEXAS!

IMG_7022

I got home Sunday night and showered and we had dinner as a family. Morgan said she was going with JP somewhere (Emily’s brother) so I said okay i’m coming and tagged along with them because #whatelseisagirltodo and we ended up going back to Emily’s house with them and watching another awful movie. Haha!

IMG_7034

That they picked out. Never again.

IMG_7037

Yesterday was Emily and JP’s dad’s birthday so we planned to go to Top Golf, but it was super busy. So we drove to Dallas, got lunch, Morgan and I went shopping, the two of us worked out together, had dinner, and now i’m here blogging. And that was my weekend. And now you’re caught up. Aren’t you glad??? Me too!

Now it’s back to work today. Sigh. Long weekends with good friends and family are too fun 😦

Weekend Recap: My Friends Are HERE!

My people are back and i’m happy and therefore this monday morning is happy whether i’m completely exhausted or not. The completely exhausted is a huge understatement this morning.

If you didn’t read about last week check out Friday’s favorites here to catch yourself up and figure out who these people are. I don’t want you to be lost, k? K.

IMG_6817

I’m pretty sure I caught you up through Thursday. But I found this creeper picture I took of my sister and her teammate at her scholarship night…what! When did she get old?!

IMG_6861

So on to the weekend! Friday night Christian (Tyler’s roommate) wanted to go to a “honky tonk” while he was in Texas. We attempted to go to what we thought would be a Texas honky tonk because even though we are from Texas i’m pretty sure Tyler, Emily and I had no idea what that was! It ended up being awful. We drove an hour there to figure out it was only a bunch of older people. We were so out of place haha. None of us had been there before so we definitely were not expecting that. We sat in a bunch of traffic on the way back thanks to an accident but when we got back to our town we went bowling.

IMG_6874

Emily was mad Tyler wore the Texas shirt, but I loved it. Rock it, boy.

IMG_6876

Saturday morning Em’s dad made us his famous pancakes. And we all scarfed them down. These are the best pancakes you’ll ever eat in your life. Just look at the butter and you’ll understand!

IMG_6879

We drove down to Arlington around 3 on Saturday planning to get there a couple hours early to eat, tailgate, and get to the concert by 7:30. Welllllllllllll as we all know, plans majority of the time fall through. We were stopped at a tire store after the girl driving realized there was a nail in her tire when Tyler’s sister looked down at the ticket and noticed it said the concert started at 5:00. AND IT WAS 4:52. We sped there and Em missed Cole Swindell. Basically the only reason she wanted to go. Naturally to cure our blues we got huge margaritas.

 IMG_6907

Yum, right?

IMG_6881

Em took this panoramic of Cowboys’. There you go, out of towners. Cowboys stadium!IMG_6897

The boys wanted to wear their cowboy hats for who knows what reason.

IMG_6891

I love my best friend.

IMG_6910

Apparently Em thought it was necessary to take pictures of Christian and I walking, so I shall bless you with them as well. I mean, it was part of the weekend I guess. Cowboys stadium is huge so there was a lot of walking.

IMG_6904IMG_6895

Even though we were there to watch some of the biggest names in country music, our best entertainment came from this couple sitting next to Christian and I. They were arguing, she took off his wedding ring and threw it in the stadium (?!?!?!?!), he then took off hers, was gone for a couple hours, and came back at the end of the concert and they left together. It was so weird, yet so entertaining. While there was also a couple in front of us fighting.

 IMG_6890

#namethatmovie

IMG_6909

Sunday morning we got up and met Tyler’s parents for breakfast before taking Christian to the airport. While sitting at breakfast we realized that Tyler forgot his own dad’s birthday…………….

………….

Who does that, right? Tyler does that.

So after we dropped off Christian, we went to the store and picked up a card and cake for Tyler’s dad.

IMG_6888

And then I came home yesterday afternoon and spent the day with the fam. I loved this weekend. It’s so fun having friends around again. NOW TELL ME: WAS YOUR WEEKEND FABULOUS TOO?

Momma’s Day 2015

My mom is “blessed” every year on Mother’s Day because she’s out on the baseball field with one brother or the other for a tournament. This year was no exception as she was waking up at 4:45 to get her and brother out the door by 6:00. She asked if I was going to go with her and when she told me she was leaving before the rooster cockadoodledoos I said sorry Ma, love you. But not that much! 😉

Saturday after I went with dad to thing 2‘s baseball games, we got home, rested, and then he and I went Mother’s Day shopping. We tried to talk dad into getting mom this card, but it didn’t happen. I’m not sure why. It’s as big as Ryan. So cool.

IMG_6780

So where were we? Ah yes, back to 4:45 waking up that was NOT going to happen. I set my alarm for 9:20 to get up and go to yoga. It was great. I’d get my 9 hours of sleep and all that good stuff.

WRONG. JUST WRONG. I woke up at 7:00am to tornado sirens and loud winds hitting the trees up against my bedroom window. I woke up once and went back to sleep not really thinking anything of it. When I woke up again I looked at my phone and saw two missed calls from my mom. I walked downstairs to her calling the house phone to tell me a tornado was headed to my town. Swell. See…if you look hard enough you can see 7:0something in the corner of the tv. And the color red, which i’m not actually sure what that color means but i’m guessing it’s not good!

IMG_6782

So i’m half asleep, dad walks out, and we’ve got the news on trying to figure out what’s happening. ‘Cause it sure doesn’t look too bad out the window. AND IT’S 7:00AM AND I’M AWAKE. JUST LET ME REMIND YOU AGAIN.

IMG_6783

Meanwhile my dad’s just casually walking around in the front to get the paper, opening up the garage doors, and standing outside watching the rain as the tornado sirens were going off. Like, hello, are you still asleep too?!?!

IMG_6784

Nothing ended up hitting our town but there was flash flooding all around and pouring rain, obviously. My brother’s game got cancelled so Ry and mom were stranded an hour away trying to figure out if they could make it home without getting sucked up in a tornado or stuck in water on the highway. #happymothersdaymom

They got home finally and we all fell back asleep. I woke up to my alarm I originally set for yoga and it was just raining at that point so I still went. And afterwards grabbed some Momma’s Day Starbucks for the win!

IMG_6786

I think part of my health issues lately have to do with me drinking soy milk and almond milk versus my normal, plain, boring lactose free milk. It seems like all my stomach can handle is lactose free milk. Fine stomach. SO at Starbucks I ordered my iced coffee without milk and the barista was so confused. She kept looking back at the guy who took my order and I just had to explain to her that I had to add my own milk when I got home. #foodallergyprobs

IMG_6787

When I got home I made some eggs and went to Church…upstairs…on my laptop. I missed last week being in Boston and this week I didn’t go. I’m so thankful we have the ability to watch online.

IMG_6790

Mom slept pretty much the entire day. I kid you not. Tired momma! So after laying around and reading for a bit I randomly decided I wanted a candle. I don’t know why you’re thinking that’s not normal. Naturally, I got up and went to Bath and Body Works and walked out with nothing because i’m not paying $10 for a candle smaller than the palm of my hand?!?!?!?! WUT. But I went to Target next door and walked out with a new swimsuit, eyeliner, marinara sauce, a new drink concoction i’m deeming my favorite, and cookie dough because #necessities.

When I got home it was already 5:00 so I started prepping dinner. It takes FOREVER to chop. We didn’t end up eating until about 6:30. But the finished product was magnifique if I do say so myself. We had mango, cucumber, and black bean salsa on top of grilled cod, green beans, and rice on the side. This meal is up.my.alley.

IMG_6792

For dessert (this is where the cookie dough comes in) I made Giada’s banana chocolate chip ice-cream sandwiches.

IMG_6791

I couldn’t have one, so I can’t tease you by talking about how decadent it was. Instead I shall tease you with this picture. Do you hate me yet???

 IMG_6793

While mom was enjoying her dessert I took some of my funfetti cake out of the fridge, put some icing and lactose free ice-cream on the side and was happy. Sidenote: People use eating gluten free as a diet, but it’s definitely not…it’s just a way for them to say they cut out bread and carbs. Eating gluten and lactose free really doesn’t cut out anything for me, I just have different mixes I have to use. And ones that are a lot more expensive at that. Don’t do the whole gluten-free thing. It’s not as yummy and a lot more expensive. Okay, rambling over.

IMG_6794

Soooo you want to hear the most funny part of the day? My other brother and sister were at my cousin’s graduation party this weekend and were suppose to come back yesterday morning. We got a call that their flight was cancelled and they can’t come back until Tuesday morning. On a 5:30am flight HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH so yeah, we couldn’t technically celebrate Mother’s Day because half the reason mom gets to celebrate the holiday was on the other side of the country. She proceeded to tell us that she gets two Mother’s Days this year. Oh….guess I need more cookie dough and fish. She opened dad and I’s present and Ryan’s present (of which we got the wrong thing yesterday at the store. total children fail.) and we called it a night.

I think she had 1/2 a good mother’s day yesterday. I love my momma and any chance I get to celebrate her. I hope everyone else had better luck on their mother’s day! 🙂

Weekend Recap: Double Smiley Face Edition

Monday again?…i’m still trying to figure out how weekends manage to go by so fast. I do enjoy a good weekend and this one did not fail. Let’s take a look at what I did, shall we?

Friday was casual Friday at work, so of course I selfied. I wore my colored jeans, this super cute shirt from Taralynn’s (i’ll link to it when she posts it on her site!), and earrings and shoes to match. I was set.
IMG_6066

I got home Friday around 5 and was going to work out, but when I started my exercise video I was all “Eh, i’m not feeling this.” So I turned it off haha. Mom, Morgan, and I went to The Longest Ride and shared MOVIE THEATER POPCORN – of which I ate probably 3/4 of this huge thing – and I loved every second of it. And I now wish that I was married to Scott Eastwood because HOLY ATTRACTIVE! And he’s suppose to be in Snowden, so someone tell me when that’s coming out and let’s go so I can drool and then eat some more popcorn. Plan?

IMG_6070

Afterwards, I went to Jon‘s to hang out with the bros for a couple hours and crashed when I got home.

Saturday morning I woke up to a text from my brother because mom wasn’t answering her phone. Not that I don’t love my brother but….sleep. So I haaaaaaaaad to get up and get him. When I got home I couldn’t go back to sleep of course so I decided to grab the book i’m reading, cozy up on the couch, and sip some of my water with lime while reading about being Christ-like in times of conflict and frustration. Now i’m seeing the irony.

IMG_6071

Then thing 1 and thing 2 bribed me to “take them” aka ride in the car because thing 1 needs someone 21 or over with his permit in order to drive to Wal-mart. They “needed” some card for their game. Also known as if you give them cash for any kind of holiday expect they will buy this plastic piece of membership to their game. Of course Wally didn’t have the card so we had to go somewhere else and the entire fiasco took an hour.

IMG_6072

And i’ll let you take a look at my feet because this is what I had to do while I waited and waited for them to find their plastic piece of membership that they couldn’t even find 🙂 🙂 #bestsisterx2

IMG_6073

The rest of Saturday afternoon found me cleaning and vacuuming my room, working out, blogging, and working on school work. As most Saturdays are like around here.

IMG_6075

Saturday night we got tickets to watch FCDallas play FCToronto at the stadium just minutes from our house. Morgan was going to be surprised with a scholarship on the field at halftime and they wanted us to keep it a secret so I told them I got the tickets through work and this was going to be family night. Well, any family night with my dad entails eating. Grumpy McGrumpster NEEDS food if you want him in a good mood. Our plans were to park the car and walk right in. We got there at 5:30 and were told it was an hour wait. I told the siblings I was taking a picture and this is the best I got #Middletonshatewaiting #welackpatience

IMG_6077

We were there until 7:00 because it took so long to get our food after we were finally seated. I was planning on going to my friend’s wedding shower after we finished eating and before the start of the game, but of course thanks to the wait I couldn’t go! So I was planning to go afterwards. We enjoyed watching the first half of the soccer game in our suite.

IMG_6081

And as soon as we all walked down to the field for them to be recognized at halftime some guy comes rushing over and says that the game is about to be called due to weather. TEXAS WEATHER HAS THE BEST TIMING. So we then had to go back up to the suite where they were going to individually hand out the plaques to the 12 scholarship recipients. As soon as they did that a gigantic gush of wind comes in and I swear it dropped 10 degrees immediately. It did not take the storm long.

IMG_6084

They quickly took some pictures and everyone at the stadium went running to their cars. And guess what? I was wearing wedges Saturday night. Double smiley face again!!!!!!!!!!! And I couldn’t even make it to my friend’s shower, thank you storm. UGH.

We pulled into our driveway and it began hailing. So the 6 of us ran inside to get blankets and towels to cover the three of our cars that sit outside. And we walked in drenched afterwards just laughing about how quick our night turned around. The next morning as I was leaving for Church I saw these blankets sitting all around our driveway to dry because they were soaked from that random Texas storm.

IMG_6087

Sunday morning was my week to volunteer with my favorite group of 4 and 5 year olds.

IMG_4867

I came home blogged, napped, and worked on more school work for the rest of the day.

IMG_6089

And now i’m going into this week just plain excited because FOUR MORE DAYS I HAVE TO DRIVE TO CAMPUS FOR CLASS. Happy Monday! Find something to be excited about today 🙂

Friday Favorites: I’m baaaaaaaacckkkkk Edition

FridayFavorites3_zpsea6fc451

Link up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea this morning! But first…

SUMMER COUNTDOWN: 2 WEEKS! SWEET JESUS, TODAY IS ALREADY FABULOUS!

I’m not going to lie, it was weird not blogging this week. Part of me was missing. I wasn’t going to post today, buttttt I didn’t really stick to that game plan as you are finding out. I logged in a couple times this week to look at my posts and realized there wasn’t one. I still had to read my favorite blogs, I couldn’t go TOO far into the no blog world thing. Ha! I said I was going to focus on school and i’m glad I did this week because it kicked my butt. And next week and the week after probably will too. It’s fine. I’m fine. Just think: 3 group presentations, 4 finals, 1 paper. Wanna be me yet????

Let’s catch you up on how life has been being MIA…

I walked into my office last Friday to this big ol’ stack of papers that I needed to go through and get situated. Needless to say, I did not finish that day.

IMG_6002

This is pretty much my favorite go-to outfit. A chambray shirt, colored jeans, and jewelry to match. I love me some casual Fridays.

IMG_6011

Friday night took me to the baseball fields or Heaven, whichever name you prefer. Sunflower seeds, sunshine, and baseball. Ohhhhhhhhhh my favorite kind of Friday night.

IMG_6012

This one played crappy, so he refused to talk the entire way home. And this is the best selfie i’ve ever gotten with him. How fabulous do I look? Tan, right? Gosh I knew I missed you guys.

IMG_6013

Saturday morning MP‘s high school soccer team played in the regional finals game (ONE GAME AWAY FROM STATE!) They were ahead the entire game until the end. They lost in overtime. And I was so sad for her, I looked over at mom and said “I want to cry for her.” I remember that feeling all too well, but hey! She’s got four more years of her sport left.

IMG_6018

We couldn’t be sad for too long because later that night was MP’s prom. And good gosh she was BEAUTIFUL! Seriously?! Little sisters aren’t supposed to be the prettier ones 😉

IMG_6026IMG_6029IMG_6034

I somehow learned that I memorize things/study better when i’m up moving around than sitting down. It’s weird. I’m weird. I know. So for about an hour on Sunday and Monday I went walking around my neighborhood with my entrepreneurship review and studied. And guess what? Not even half of it was on the exam! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 I LOVE LIFE!

Is school over yet…?

IMG_6048

Then to top off the middle of my week, Wednesday I spilled coffee on my favorite white shirt. Mom, grab the bleach!

IMG_6058

And I was not in the mood to work out on Wednesday, but it had been a while and I knew I need to get out and about. I did a little ab work out and ran. I like to move it move it. I like to MOVE IT! No? Okay.

IMG_6060

This has been in my life very day this week. Hot, cold, frozen I don’t have a favorite, just give me all the coffee!

My name is Molly and i’m officially addicted to coffee.

IMG_6061

And that’s one of my group members in his military stuff. We always make fun of him because Thursday is flight suit day so he comes wearing a big ol’ green jumper. Except not yesterday, so now I feel like this is pointless.

Last night Morgan and I went shopping for a dress for her to wear to her soccer banquet.

IMG_6064

And we failed!!!!

IMG_6065

But at least I had a cute shirt on, am I right? Dad and I are going to Boston the first weekend of May to see my favorite match-up: Sox vs. Yanks, which is my birthday present from him. I’M SO PUMPED!

Okay, enough about me. How have YOU been?!

Happy Easter!

I love Holidays. I really do. No matter which one it is. It’s festive, it’s family time, it’s just a happy day. And yesterday was no exception.

I’m not going to recap my entire weekend today, however I want to show you how thoughtful my sweet co-worker is. I walked into my office on Good Friday and saw this coffee cup on my desk. I had to feel it to see if it was warm or not and she said she got me it because she knew I was probably going down there anyways and she was already down at the coffee shop. PLUS it was pay day. So, GOOD FRIDAY. My day was made early in the morning.

IMG_5922

Anyways, back to yesterday. I woke up super early and hopped out of bed because I knew the Easter bunny came!! And this little guy was sitting outside my door, but wouldn’t sit up for a picture.

IMG_5936

The Easter bunny left some of his paw prints in our house with candy leading to our baskets. Our Easter bunny sure knows us as Morgan and Rick went fighting for who was going to get more Reese’s. Children…

IMG_5938

We went to our Church’s 9:30 service, so the majority of us were crabby and therefore when we got home I didn’t even attempt to ask for an Easter picture. Besides the fact my brothers don’t know how to dress.

Then the brothers, sister and dad went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch (seriously, who does that on Easter?!) and mom I held down the fort, while we started prepping dinner. I requested a coffee and they brought it home for me 🙂

IMG_5941

Mainly because I helped this kid set up his new “gaming chair” that he ripped open and threw everywhere.

IMG_5942

After we got our meal prepped, I took out my computer and worked for a little bit with my warm coffee in hand 🙂

IMG_5943

And I took a 3 hour nap while mom put the finishing touches on our Easter table. Love all the brightness and happiness this holiday brings!

IMG_5944

We each had our own little chocolate nest with jelly beans and peeps.

IMG_5946

And a SMORGASBORD of food. Ham, fruit salad, deviled eggs, broccoli casserole, rolls, honey glazed carrots, au gratin potatoes, and broiled tomatoes. It was GOOD GOOD GOOD!

IMG_5947

I ate my food up!

IMG_5948

See how cute that dessert was?!?!

IMG_5949

We didn’t do anything spectacular yesterday, but it was still a good day. I’m so thankful God sent his one and only son to die for our sins. And i’m so glad He is risen!! So that we will be risen! Praise Jesus!

Today is extra special because:

It’s the RED SOX OPENING DAY!!!!!!!!! At 2:05 while i’m at work, but i’m going to be watching my phone for updates.

IMG_5950

It’s also my parent’s 24th anniversary. And my Aunt’s birthday. And my Grandma’s birthday. So many good things going on today to celebrate! Praise Jesus! And a happy Monday!

Weekend Recap: Framily and Family Edition

Are you ready to hear about what I did this weekend? ‘Cause that’s what you’re getting today. Not like you can’t read the title of my post. But I thought i’d just make sure that you knew. So let’s get to it, shall we?

Friday afternoon when I got home from work, I saw this all around the house. Easter decorations everywhere. I love Easter and all the bright colors that it brings!

IMG_5869

This is Morg‘s senior season and Friday night was their first playoff game. Mom and I went and the boys met us there after brother’s baseball game. I’m making sure I can go to all of them in case it is her last high school game.

IMG_5790

And they won!!! It was nerve-racking there at the end. As soon as the buzzer sounded I raced to mom’s car and left her there. Kidding, she rode home with dad. But still. I had to meet these crazy people….

Jonathan, Justine, Chris, Justine’s friends, and I went to Pete’s Piano Bar in Addison for some good ol’ times. And good ol’ times we had. Chris is suppose to be 28 or something like that…

IMG_5904

Justine wanted to take pictures, so I took out my phone to take a picture of her and Chris. You know, cute hubby and wifey picture and she goes “No, boys can wait.” And grabbed me and her friend for a mini photo shoot. Haha. Can you tell i’m photogenic though?????

IMG_5888

I love love her. This is Izzy and Isaiah’s mom. You remember them! They sweetest family there was.

IMG_5905

And we went to iHop after we left a different bar and I about fell asleep at the table I was so so so tired.

If you were looking for me on Saturday you would’ve found me here:
At the baseball fields. Ryan had a tournament this past weekend and since I wasn’t able to make it to any of his other games, I went to Saturday’s games.

IMG_5880

And we were there that night.

IMG_5881

And late into the night. Love my number 10. And baseball season.

IMG_5884

We didn’t get home until 11 and I was still tired from Friday night I went to sleep right away.
Sunday morning I woke up on time for Church (whoop!) considering I had to volunteer, but didn’t do my hair. I think from this picture, i’ll learn for next week…ha!

IMG_5890

And the rest of Sunday was me being super productive because for some reason I am always productive on Sundays but not Saturday. It’s weird. I’m weird.

Hint: I did some of this.

IMG_5230

And made some of this:

IMG_5346

And was forced to do this:

IMG_4943

But i’m not going to worry about that today because my summer countdown clock is still ticking, people!!!!

And it’s already Tuesday, so soon it will be Friday. Right? #lookingonthebrightside

Weekend Recap: Am I right? Edition

It’s Monday already? Look, i’ll pray for you and me today. I have a feeling we I need it.

When I got home after work on Friday I saw this waiting for me. And I jumped for joy. Almost literally. It’s was more of a skip. I love Valley and Trent and I can’t wait until 6/6 to witness them getting married!!!

IMG_5798

Friday night was Morgan‘s senior night, so we went in the pouring rain to watch her sit the bench because she’s still injured from a couple week ago.

IMG_5790

And I thought this was so cute of the brothers standing next to each other. Once they found out I was taking pictures I got a dirty look and they ran different directions to get out of my picture. What.Ev.Er. Boys are annoying, am I right?

IMG_5791

Then at half time we all went on the field to walk her to the middle of the 50 yard line, take a picture, and then move to the side for everyone else. It actually went really fast.

IMG_5795

And you know me, I had to get a picture. These are my favorite rainboots from Nordstrom. And Carli commented on my Instagram picture about my hair looking full and I wanted to kiss her. But I didn’t, don’t freak out on me here! Nevermind the humidity from the rain. My hair is getting thick again!!!

IMG_5796

And then the brothers and I left early because she wasn’t playing, so I went out and they did important things like play video games. Saturday morning we all hung out around the house for a bit (when we finally woke up) and then I took the brothers to the cages, because i’m a good sister, am I right? I actually like taking them. I love baseball as it is so seeing them play is something I won’t take for granted. Speaking of baseball, SOX OPENING DAY IS IN TWO WEEKS.

IMG_5812

And then I went on a run and was invited to Cinderella by Morgan. And I said why not because what else would a 21 year old do a Saturday night, am I right? We actually had to wait an hour and a half for the movie because of how sold out it was. And then in line. And all we did was laughed about it. The movie was so stupid (to us) and there was one point that we both laughed out loud. Needless to say, if you’re asking for my opinion, save your $15 for the movie ticket.

IMG_5817

Afterwards I actually went out with Jonathan and some of his friends to the bars. Sunday morning I was planning on going to yoga before Church, but turned off my alarm half asleep and slept until 10:36 (for 11 service), jumped in the quickest shower i’ve ever taken, and realized I was left by the family for Church. So I had to drive myself to meet them. So rude.

Our Sunday’s around here are usually spent with dad and the boys outside, mom and the girls inside cleaning or what not. The boys and I went to the cages yesterday so they would get out of helping my dad plant hahah and I took a selfie and this is all I got because brat #1 hit my phone out of my hand to the floor. So rude again.

IMG_5834

I went on a run last night because remember i’m back into running all of a sudden? and I had a #tinywin last night. Usually i’ll walk 2 minutes, run 8 minutes (I assume that’s my mile pace nowadays), walk 2 minutes, run 8 minutes kind of thing. I went out late last night so I was a little rushed for daylight and decided I would run a quick mile. Well I wasn’t dying after that first mile like usual, so I said hey i’ll go another half mile, and then ended up pushing myself to run the full two miles. For the first time ever. In my life i’m pretty sure. It’s the little things that can make your day, am I right? Because I did want to die afterwards. I’m out of shape.

IMG_5230

Also, I just fell in love with blogging a little more because I was going through my pictures to find this picture of me walking a couple weeks ago and saw an outfit from Decmeber that i’m going to wear to work this morning so I don’t have to spend 20 minutes figure out what i’m going to wear. #it’sthelittlethings #amiright?

Happy Morning, to you. Let’s get coffee.

Weekend Recap: I’m tired of ice edition

After being snowed in Monday and Tuesday, getting to work and school Wednesday and Thursday, I was able to make it to work on Friday morning. However, as soon as I got there it began snowing like crazy.

It took me two hours to get home on Friday afternoon. TWO HOURS. Traffic was heavy, everyone was driving slow, and I was starving. Anything involving hungry Molly is never a good thing. And this is what I walked out in as I was leaving Friday. My car was covered and I had to sit and wait for it to defrost for about 10 minutes.

 IMG_5458_2

“I’m sitting in traffic, i’m hungry, it’s cold. Helllllpppp”

IMG_5460

And not only was there snow on the ground, there was a sheet of ice on top of it. And I was so over it!! O.V.E.R I.T. (ps. we’re expecting some late this week…awesome)

IMG_5461

Friday night I just wanted to go somewhere. Since I had to come home from work I didn’t want to be stuck inside all day. I just kept trying to go somewhere! And I ended up not being able to because of the snow and ice making the roads slick. After a glass of wine with momma and a movie with Ryan and mom, I layed in front of the fire watching HBO (we randomly found out we get these channels) blogging and it was actually really nice. Sometimes it’s okay to relax. Sometimes it’s okay to do nothing. I need to reiterate that to myself sometimes.

IMG_5477

Saturday morning I woke up and made myself some hash browns and scrambled eggs and it was good good. I go through random cravings and lately, scrambled eggs have been it. But only with picante!!

IMG_5482

I sat around all day and I was not having it. I get too antsy when i’m not doing something all the time. So, finally around 7 I texted Jonathan and basically told him we were hanging out. I said his sister Justine, and brother in law Chris should come and the four of us when for drinks and cheese fries at a local place. And it was so much fun! I just remember laughing the whole time. I love those people.

IMG_5484

And isn’t this picture just so funny? Little filipino kids…

IMG_5487

Sunday I put on my green shirt and went to volunteer. I took a random mirror selfie because I must have been half asleep when I dressed myself. I have on olive pants, sparkly flats, my green Church shirt, a navy and cream striped shirt and brighter navy scarf. Haha needless to say #sundaymorningainteasy.

IMG_5490

And then because everyone needs to look at puppies. Start your Wednesday off by taking a good look at these PRECIOUS LITTLE THINGS from my Aunt and Uncle’s dog farm. Ps. Puppies can be shipped (seriously, they fly on a plane)!! 🙂

IMG_5501

…thank me later. Happy Wednesday!

Weekend Recap: Valentines Day Edition

It’s Monday, so you know what that means??? Yes, you have to go back to work. And if you’re not I hope you’re reading this at 10am because you just woke up. You lucky duck.

But also you get a glimpse into another SUPER FASCINATING weekend of mine. It’ll be riveting. I don’t know, but i’m guessing you can hardly stand it.

So every day on my way to work I have to listen to Sam Hunt’s song Take your time. I have to. Or else it will be a bad day and nobody has time for that. If you haven’t heard of Sam Hunt you need to crawl out from that rock you’re hiding under and google him right this minute. Thank me later 😉

IMG_5206

Thursday night was pizza night at our house (let’s be honest, when is it not pizza night at our house haha) We tried out this new place called Pie Five and we got 6 different personal sized pizzas. I ate the whole thing. PIZZA IS GOOD. But i’m kinda feeling like i’ve had enough of that Italian goodness for now.

IMG_5214

I had my mini arm party going on Friday to work and snapped a picture because you needed to see. Love my bracelet?? Well, it’s right here and if you like free anything i’m hosting a giveaway that I announced during Friday Favorites and you need to enter because again, FREE $$!!! Click here to look at my giveaway!

IMG_5219 IMG_5222

P.s. I love casual Fridays at work!!

So my thing lately is walking during sunset. Something about it is so peaceful and with February weather being in the 60s in North Texas, you have to take advantage!!! Just about every night i’ve been walking. I mean…look how pretty!

IMG_5226

IMG_5230

And then after that little exercise I basically ate all. night. long. on Friday. I’ve been hungry for 2 days straight. All day. Anyone know what that’s about?! But this was considered “dinner”: cheese quesadilla with guac and chips. I love Mexican food! And it’s the only way to get through studying for three tests this week.

IMG_5238

Saturday morning I woke up to this little envelope leaning on my bedroom door. My valentine left me some gluten free pizza crust, a v-neck, some running shoes, and a new skirt for golf this spring.

IMG_5239

And Reeana‘s sweet soul sent me and her other friends this text on Saturday morning. I love her.

IMG_5240

And then because I woke up at 12:15 on Saturday (oops) I decided to bake me, myself, and I a chocolate cake because remember i’ve been hungry for 2 days straight. And besides that, all you need in life is yourself and chocolate!

Ingredients ready?

IMG_5241

Heart shaped pan greased?

IMG_5242

Ingredients mixing?

IMG_5243

It’s go time!!!!

This cake smelled delicious coming freshly out of the oven. Don’t know why it expanded into a huge heart. But I thought it was rather fitting. Get it? Big heart? Me? No? Yeah, that was pretty stupid.

IMG_5244

Then Saturday afternoon I decided I needed to get myself something for Valentines day. Scratch that, I just wanted to get new work shoes so I made up the excuse about getting something for Valentines day. But….I picked up something for the parents! So that was thoughtful, right?

IMG_5251

I came home and we made little appetizer pizzas (Told you lots of Pizza). You can’t even tell which one is full of gluten and which one isn’t!!! Or can you?

IMG_5252 IMG_5253

And then I had more cake. It’s pretty much almost gone. And nobody else is eating it besides me. And then I studied. And studied. OH, and left ma and pa a little surprise in their room. They were super corny, but you can only do what you can do. There was a Starbucks card with his…but of course he used it before I could snap a picture.

IMG_5264

Mom got a pair of spring sandals, some sunglasses, and nail polish. Just little things 🙂

IMG_5271

And then it was a beautiful Sunday morning and dad and I went for our Sunday date to Starbs.

IMG_4973

And then to Church so I could volunteer. Morg and Rick met me for the 11:00 service. And asked me why I feel a need to take selfies everywhere I go. BECAUSE I WANT TO! I want to remember these days when they refused to take pictures with me. And went out in public without my hair brushed and make-up. I mean really, is that too much to ask??

IMG_5259

And then I hung out in my super comfortable cardigan and yoga capris (similar) for the rest of Sunday afternoon..

IMG_5263

And now we’re back here to this Monday morning. But you know what?? I have a feeling it’s going to be a good day. Because you are going to enter my giveaway, that’s why!! 🙂

Tomorrow we’re going to get a little lovey dovey over here. Females, come back. Males, you probably won’t want to. Hint: Show and Tell: How you met your mate.

Weekend Recap: Home Alone edition

Mom and dad are in Hawaii for their Anniversary (a couple months early). I’m so glad they went!! This week i’m holding down the fort with Rugrat 1, Rugrat 2, and Rugrat 3.

Thursday night I finally saw Reeana since she’s been home from her graduation in December. We went to Mi Cocina and hung out for 2 hours. We talked about being old with jobs, graduation, law school, and all that big kid stuff. It was so fun!! Love spending time with this friend 🙂 And how cute is she in this picture???

IMG_5114

And what’s good ol’ Mexican food without some Bud and lime?

IMG_5115

Friday morning I went in to the office and was super productive. Because always.

IMG_4934

After I got home from work I had a couple hours before Ry had to be at his baseball practice. So I did some dishes. Morgan was at her soccer game and after we left I got a call from Rick saying he was locked out of the house. HAHA! He whinned and complained for 2 hours….however I got them Little Caesers breadsticks and pizza and when we got home the four of us sat around the table and laughed about Rick acting like he was #OMGSOFREEZING from being outside that long. Drama!

IMG_5118

Saturday morning I slept until 11. HALLELUJAH. And I “connected over a cup” of vanilla coffee with cinnamon and watched my Hart of Dixie recording. Best. Show. Y’all.

IMG_5122

And then to get the siblings to stop whining about how there is no food in our house. (Wrong, there were just no bagel bites) I had to go to the grocery store. But look at this weather!!!! February in TX means sunny and 70. No complaints 🙂

IMG_5123

And Saturday afternoon I got a much-needed haircut. Hey, thanks for buying dad 😉

IMG_5125

Saturday night I babysat this little cutie and we multi-tasked while playing Mario Kart and eating Doritos.

IMG_5128

Sunday morning I went to Yoga as per the every other week usual.

IMG_4975

And Rugrat 3 had practice Sunday afternoon, so Morg and I drove to pick him up. Not gonna lie..I almost broke a sweat out there! Beautiful sunshine!

IMG_5133

They begged me for Subway, so being the awesome big sis in charge that I am, I obliged so they could get sandwiches. And definitely not so I could get sweet tea or anything 🙂

IMG_5136

And I just want to leave you with this picture before we wrap up here, so we can all hate on my parents for being in beautiful Hawaii while each of us are at work/school/the gym/wherever this Monday morning.

IMG_5142

Yes. I know.

Weekend Recap: Superbowl Sunday Edition

Why hello!!! Happy day to you! I was busy linking up for Pin-Spired on Monday and Show and Tell on Tuesday, that i’m just now getting to my weekend recap. I like documenting my weekends. I guess I just like the fact that I can look back and see what my weekends were all about…you know, what I did to fill my time, who I was with, etc.

So…..Friday……I watched my recorded episode of Parenthood. It was so cute. The perfect ending. If you haven’t watched Parenthood before, you should. I found it on Netflix when I was searching through “what you would like” one day and I was really intrigued by the show because I felt like my family could relate to some of those characters. And really all of them are super relatable as it is.
IMG_4959

Friday night I picked up my brother from the baseball field. Oh, I miss the diamond on a cool spring night. Bring on March already! Fun fact: I used to be the team manager my senior year and I loved it. I like going back to see the coach and also seeing my brothers play for him as well.

IMG_5003

Then after I picked up my brother, dad and I bundled up in the super super cold weather to cheer on Morg at her soccer game. They are doing so well, and her team is undefeated! This particular game was super close and really intense. Love supporting my siblings.

IMG_5005

Saturday we hung around the house while it rained and rained. The fam made plans to go see American Sniper that evening, however, it was so full in the theater there was no way we were able to sit together, so we got a refund and left. Then, we were trying to figure out how we would get the movie in around Church and we spontaneously decided to go to the Saturday night service. My dad kept commenting on how weird it was to be at Church on a Saturday night.

IMG_5007

Afterwards my mom, sister, and I ran to The Home Depot for some supplies for a cute decor piece my mom is making.

IMG_5008

Yes, she’s making a soccer goal for Morgan’s signing day this morning! The finished project is super awesome!

IMG_5009

Then Sunday morning it was my week to volunteer for Sunday School at Church. It finished 10 minutes before our movie started, so I met the family there and we watched American Sniper for Super Bowl Sunday morning. I LOVED this movie. It was definitely R rated, but I think it shows the realities that we really don’t understand as people who are not in the military. Or “civilians” as the military folks call it. Maybe because I have a military father I understood more and that’s why I liked it so much? Regardless, I’d highly recommend this to anyone.

IMG_5011

Sunday afternoon I went to my best bud, Jonathan‘s house to hang out with his little nephew, Isaiah, his niece Isabella, his sister and his parents. We watched the super bowl and then we all left at half time.

IMG_5016

Jon made burgers, and I was feeding Isaiah while they ate and then totally forgot my burger and left it at his house. I texted Jonathan this picture of me making my burger because I was mad I had to clean it up some dirty dishes!

IMG_5015

I ended the weekend on burgers, beer, and football. It doesn’t get any more American than that!

Also, did anyone really care about the Super Bowl this year? I’m thinking not so much.
