Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! It’s time to talk favorites this morning with Erika, Andrea, and Narci.

 

Monday morning I announced that I wanted to host an online Bible study for us blogger friends to participate in. Comment on that post or this one if you’d like to join in. This next week I am going to contact everyone to get it rollin’…it’s going to be my favorite part of the week!

Yesterday morning I asked y’all what type of posts you would like for me to publish. I know sometimes I find articles online and they sound boring and not interesting at all. I don’t want this blog to be boring or uninteresting to you. So tell me what you want to read from me because your questions are my favorite!

The other day I was out shopping (not even for me, it was for Christmas) and I stumbled upon a store I knew carried simplified planners. They’ve never had them in stock when I went in to look at one but I figured what the heck i’ll give it a try! Lo and behold this puppy was the only one in the store….and 70% off…and nothing was wrong with it!!!!! I about died and couldn’t pay for it fast enough. I’m officially all set for 2016 and this is definitely my favorite gift to myself 😉

I made my faaaavvvvvoritteee peanut butter cup protein pie last night and had to practice some serious self control as I wanted to drown myself in the entire thing. If you haven’t made it, DO IT! You can thank me later! And I promise you will 😉 It’s better than my non-foodie-blogger-pics make it look.

This girl is coming home tonight! Whoop! She hasn’t been here since August so i’m sure she’s excited to sleep in her own bed. And we’re excited to see her. I love Thanksgiving for bringing family together. It’s my favorite holiday (remember I switched from 4th of July haha)! Not to mention my school has all week off so HOLLA SLEEP!

Fitness Goals Update – Week 2!

1. No eating after 8:00 p.m. I did this every day last week, but this week I only did 3 times! Wahoo! Maybe next week i’ll cut it down to once? I still have issues with this one. Am I hungry because it’s been 4 hours since dinner and I need some fuel? Or am I hungry because I know it’s been 4 hours and I feel like I need something?? I don’t know!!!
2. Meal prep every Sunday for the week ahead following the 21 day fix plan. I still had a lot of leftovers to eat, so I didn’t make anything new on Sunday. This weekend I will! And i’ve definitely been failing at the 21 day fix food groups.
3. Eat 5 small meals without snacking in between those. This week I just ate when I was hungry but tried to be conscious of when it was. Some days I know I ate more than I should have in one sitting, but I just felt like I couldn’t fill up.
4. Work-out 5 days a week. Working out more than that. Check!
5. Cut down on the carbs. From looking in my food journal i’ve noticed lots of larabars or quest bars and lots of my protein shakes. Those add up in carbs along with others that i’m already eating. Less protein bars/protein powder this week!

I’ve realized that last night and the night before I have been feeling very bloated and uncomfortable..usually a norm for me but not lately so this was weird. This week I want to figure out if it’s because i’m eating too much, or the protein powder I used in the peanut butter pie, or what. I just wish I had this fitness thing down already. I feel like i’ve been working on it so long (not just the past two weeks) and it’s not exactly what i’m wanting.

But it’s a new week, so here’s to that. Do something great this weekend! 🙂

Friday Favorites: Siblings, Organization, and Rain Boots Edition

I love Friday, love Friday, love Friday, love Friday, love Friday! I consider myself a full-time student and a full-time employee (but i’m technically not a full-time employee) because i’m taking 16 hours this semester and the other days when i’m not at school, I work so i’m not getting home until 5/6/7 most nights. I finally understand what all the hype is about Friday!

Friday night I was basically the best sister ever and went to support Morg at her soccer game in the freeeeeeeezing cold with my momma. One of my favorite things to do is watch my siblings play their sports. I know it’s not normal for people my age, but it’s just me and that’s how i’ve always been! Morgan will be 5 hours away next year so I won’t get to see that many games, so i’m definitely going to go to as many as I can!

Saturday’s are my favorite when it’s one of those hang-out-in-your-pjs-and-get-your-stuff-back-in-order-and-cleaned-up kind of days and that’s what this past weekend was. My momma had me run to the grocery store, but said Rick had to drive. Yikes he’ll be 16 this year, and yikes I should dress better when I go out in public!

Sunday afternoon I met up with Lana, a friend’s friend, and she captured some of my favorite picture to date from one of my favorite online boutiques. I’m posting them in three parts, but you should check out my God made girls post from Monday.

My parents came and met me for lunch at work on Monday because my dad was off for MLK holiday. My mom and I were getting everything set to where we wanted it hung and then the maintenance guy walked in. It was perfect timing and now my office is all decorated with my favorite things. You should check out that post!

Because you can’t sit through entrepreneurship without your favorite Erin Condren spiral notebook and your favorite iced drink from Starbucks. What a way to wake you up on a super tiring Tuesday morning. PS. I got complimented on my Erin Condren today, too! Have you used any EC?

Rain rain go away. Traffic was bad the other day. But at least I was looking good with my favorite rain boots and favorite hot coffee in hand 😉

Weekend Recap: Whiny Edition

 

It was fuhhhhreezing here this weekend! Like rainy, cold, windy weather.

After class Friday I decided I needed a little TLC because I was being whiny and I don’t know why. I remembered my aunt gave me a gift card last year to Massage Envy, so I made an appointment for a facial because I had never had one and I said “why not”!

So then I was all “Am I pretty yet?”

Annnnnnd Morgan said no, but it’s fine! I switched my Friday night shift with another girl at work, so Morg and I had sister time. And since she’s taller she gets to do the dirty work. Being short may have its perks sometimes.

And we went home because I wasn’t feeling well. #whatelseisnew

Saturday morning I woke up thinking it was Friday so I wanted to be really whiny again because it was early and I don’t like mornings yet, (no I didn’t get a facial this time) but it’s okay because I fell back asleep. Don’t worry!!! I know you were worried. I woke up and mom made her french toast and I didn’t capture the moment, but she made me g-free/l-free french toast and I stopped whining because maybe she does love me ❤

I thought I had to work Saturday morning but when I went in I wasn’t on the floor chart so that’s a total waitress win. I ran into Maddie and Emily there because they were coming to surprise me and we decided to do something Saturday night. Emily invited us over and it was burrrrrr freezing and raining so I brought them

rain jackets!!!! Because that’s what good friends do? They bring rain jackets that nobody was using at her house to her friends. Need a rain jacket? Call me XOXO

And then the dirty snitches decided to make cookies and look at his to die for delicious looking golden brought cookie sheet cake thing. And because they hate me they filled it with tons of gluten. I bring them rain jackets and they make gluten cookies….

rethinking friendship now. We decided to make them blankets Saturday night because Maddie saw one of mine and loved it. So Em and I made Maddie’s blanket

                               

and Maddie helped too  watched Frozen.

                              

We took a break in between the two blankets for popcorn and m&ms because how do you have girls’ night without a bunch of chocolate and unhealthy food?

We finished them both and HOW CUTE ARE MY FRIENDS?! Don’t worry they’ll be on MMP soon! 🙂

                        

And then it was all snuggles the rest of the night.

AND THEN GUESS WHAT? You won’t believe it. Just guess. Okay fine i’ll tell you. If you look closely at the corner of the counter you will see how they enjoy teasing me taunting me being mean to me and everything in between ’cause they ordered a large cheesy domino’s pizza. Yes, they love to see me unhappy.

If you thought I was whiny before, look at how whiny I am now…because they got Domino’s and I sat with a banana on the couch for dinner. But i’m not bitter or anything!!!

I got over it because i’m forgiving and look at how cute they are. Love these two and the time I get to hang out with them.

                             

We goofed around per the normal for a while longer and ended up crashing at some point. I left in the morning thinking I was going to make it to Church, but I didn’t make it back in time. However, I did make it back in time for mom to tell me her and Morgan were going out. I asked my sister if I could join her and my mom while they went shopping and she said no…so I invited myself #blessed #loved #wanted

and I think I know why I wasn’t invited because I did this in the middle of the mall…

took a selfie walking down the stairs and she was super embarrassed. It was great.

After we shopped Morgan told us everything she wants for Christmas we were hungry and I WANTED PIZZA BECAUSE OF SATURDAY NIGHT. So dadgumit I got my Hawaiian pizza. For any of you g-free peeps, get Papa Murphy’s gluten free crust. It’s wonderful and edible.

And it was still buuuurrrrrrr chilly so I studied and did homework all yesterday because that’s how we cool college people spend our weekend. And then I hear a brother yell that it’s snowing outside. In November. In Texas. What. And I had to document. This, my friends, is a Texas blizzard.

BUR!!!!! So I did what any Vanilla Bean Noel-er addict would do…lit my candle and relaxed the rest of the night.

It was all fun and games until we realized we had moths in our pantry so mom and I took everything that the pack-rat has in there and had to bleach the entire pantry.

HAPPY MONDAY!

At least you can be glad you don’t have moths today! 😉

Meet My Peeps: Morgan

Today I want to introduce to you “Meet My Peeps” & it is going to be SO. MUCH. FUN! You will find this tab on the top of my page to revert back to in the future. Every week I will introduce to you one of my people. The ones who make me, me. I think it’s only fair that you get to know them a little better (with their consent of course), because usually at least one of them is in each of my posts.

So without further ado let’s meet…….
Morgan

How do I know Morgan?
She’s been my sister for the past 18 years.

What do I love about Morgan?
She does not care what ANYONE thinks. Morgan can make you laugh without trying. She can be a huge ball of sass if she needs to be (like the other day she wouldn’t take Rick to the school because she “didn’t feel like it”, so he walked). But she’s also such a go-with-the-flow type person, except in the mornings. Watch out for you life!

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Morgan?
Probably soccer. Or when we used to pretend to be Mary Kate and Ashley on “It Takes Two” and do the fainting thing in bed at night after we were tucked in. Or punching her in the nose so now she still gets nosebleeds. People always thinking we are twins. Or she’s older. Me bossing her around (of course. i’m mean). Stealing a flashlight from downstairs and sneaking into our Jack and Jill bath to go through the American Girl Doll magazine and itemize what we wanted and how much it would cost. Oh my gosh, too many things!

What do I think is one fun fact about Morgan?
She can put away an entire pizza like nobodys business.

Morgan i’m sorry for being such a mean big sister!!!!!! I really do love you.

I asked all of my peeps the same 13 questions (I didn’t count the name). Because lucky #13. So you will see the same questions, but obviously a variety of different answers. Honestly, I had so much fun with this!!! Some of these answers were cracking me up.

Well, I don’t know. Meeting me for the first time no, but talking and getting to know me, then yes.

I don’t even think I know any. Um, yeah.

This is me we’re talking about here. Um. Well. I’ll get in trouble if mom reads this.

10. What would you rather be doing than this right now?
What is it a Wednesday night? Uh, I guess watching New Girl. But that comes on Tuesdays, so that’s a problem. Um, then watching re-runs.

11. Who is the funniest person you know?
Hmmmm me. Probably Maddie.

12. What is a “color of your life”?
Brown, because I have brown hair and brown eyes.

13. What is your favorite holiday? Why?
Halloween. Well, I like all holidays because of the decorations.

Sisters truly are built in best friends and I couldn’t be more thankful for mine. Morg, I adore you more than you probably think. Thank you for participating!!

September 22, 2014- Morgan’s 18th

Happy 18th to my girl, MP!! Morg turned 18 yesterday…I’m happy, but i’m old. Hahaha

Let me just start by saying, y’all. My sister is so pretty!!

When our family was weeeee little, Morgan and I were the BEST of pals. I can’t remember not doing something with her, and we have about a jillion pictures to prove so.

When I started growing up, I became too cool for my family….i’m sure you know how that works. So, Morgan and I weren’t as close, but recently we’ve become besties again. About 50% of the time we are told we either look like twins or we look absolutely nothing alike. I don’t know, i’ll let you be the judge of that.

Personally, I think she looks more like this:

Hey, Morg. Thanks, I heart you too!

 

Morg will be the first person to play a prank on you. (Excuse my heinous hair blowing in the wind. I totally look like a male), but this is the only picture of her pretending to cut the rope while my parents were parasiling. Wink, wink.

Or dig into dessert.

   

I envy Morgan for her total go with the flow attitude. I wish I could be more like that.

Unluckily, her birthday fell on a Monday so guess what??? She gets to go to school all day.

But when she gets home at 2:00 it’s time for a birthday breakfast mixed with a birthday lunch. Donuts and Beef Stroganoff. SO WEIRD!

The only time all six of us were home together last night was from 6:30-6:45 so that was designated present time.

I wasn’t lying..see the clock says 6:38. Rick got her a new Vera Bradley wallet keychain thing.

Ryan got her the jacket she has on to match the LuLulemon headband he is wearing.

P.s. can I just say look how pretty she looks and this is before she’s about to go to soccer practice for 2 hours. Such a natural beauty!!

Dad got her a Michael Kors watch!!! And she was totally not expecting it. My goober dad does not know how to pose for a picture so the best I can get is him talking….sigh. Males sometimes.

Mom got her oreos!!!!! Ha, kidding. Mom got her a life proof case early, so she just gave her these on her birthday.

And me????? What did I get her?

I made her Olaf!!!!!!! I know, I don’t have a career in cake baking, but this is the best I could do. I think she liked Mr. Olaf cake 🙂 She loves Olaf and Frozen, and when I was pinteresting the other day I saw him and just knew it had to happen.

And no, that’s not all I got her…

I bought her tickets to see her man Luke!! She wanted Luke Bryan tickets, so she took her friend and they went Saturday night. She said she had fun, so i’m really happy!

And when she got back from soccer practice last night I heard her coming in and went to say hi 🙂

And first thing she said was “let’s eat cake” so we lit her candles and she made her wish.

And nobody was feelin’ cake that late last night so she dug in alone.

And immediately after that she had to work on a project for her government class. The hard life of an 18 year old….but I still think she enjoyed her day and that’s all that mattered! I love birthdays!!
